I thought we'd tried every good option for Mexican food here in Lubbock, but Gorditos sure makes our list now! They make a good carne guisada, but the chile rellanos are what impressed me most. They make them with a poblano pepper instead of an anaheim like most places in town use. The pepper had a nice light char on... More

I found this place only because of Trip Advisor. This place is hidden in a strip mall and not highly visible from the street but it is definitely worth looking for. The place was clean and friendly and the service and food were both excellent.

This small local Mexican restaurant has great food and service without the noise and long waits. The chicken fajitas are delicious with a hearty portion and yummy flour tortillas. Enchilada plates are hearty too and the green chile sauce is tasty. Chips are light with a good homemade salsa. Service is friendly too. This is now our "go to" Mexican restaurant... More

The chips and salsa was very good and I enjoyed the quesadilla. However, what I really appreciated was the great service we received. Overall, it was a great experience.

We went to the one in Galveston and it was the bomb...we got the heads up from our hotel friend and he said it was great so we took his word for it. Man was he on point. We had all kinds of stuff and all were great. Amazing salsas and i like the futeball stuff in the washrooms. you... More

At an evening visit with some long-time friends, it was suggested that we visit Gorditos for supper. I'm always up for Tex-Mex, so off we went. I think this is a locals' favorite. The manager and waitstaff greeting folks (including my friends) by name. We were seated promptly, chips and salsa (recommended) brought, and drink orders taken. I ordered the... More

We've eat at Gordito’s fairly often and have yet to be more than mildly disappointed. The recipes reflect traditional Tex-Mex with a twist of more authentic local dishes. I think they have the best salsa in town. They have several appetizers, but we frequently make a meal of the nachos, piled high with your choice of meat, beans and cheese... More

They were ok, but I believe it could have been better. It took some time to get a waitress, even though there were only 2 tables occupied inthe whole restaurant, including us. I ordered a carne guisada (pork instead of beef) and it tasted good, but my wife asked for an enchilada and had a somewhat weird taste. Maybe it... More

This is one of the best in Lubbock. Very good service and some unique dishes. The salsa is very good, served with all. Good place for lunch or dinner.

The atmosphere was a little dark, but staff was friendly. The tacos were great and the tamale was good but the cheese enchiladas weren't my favorite. The charro beans had a metallic taste to them, suggesting they may be canned. The papas could have been a lot better w/ chiles, onions & queso...such a missed opportunity on that. All that... More
