We came here because of the name. We made a good choice. It is not fancy, but it is good. The price are very reasonable and the portions are very large. The dirty rice is excellent. The food is cajun with a Texas twist. Porkchops smothered in etoufee. Highly recommended if you like Cajan food.

The service staff was very friendly. They always had a smile on their face. The food was quite good and resembled the fair of my youth in South Louisiana.

We had gumbo, the smothered pork chop, and voodoo shrimp. The gumbo had a strange spice to it. Maybe Old Bay? Regardless, it wasn't up to Cajun gumbo standards. Both the smothered pork chop and voodoo shrimp were covered in crawfish etouffee. Unfortunately, the crawfish seemed to be added after the etouffee was cooked, mixed in at the last minute.... More

We received such a warm and friendly welcome to the Cajun-Tex restaurant. They have a mix of Cajun influenced dishes, and many choices. I settled on the fried fish tacos (delicious!), while my husband chose the Breaux Bridge platter. We really enjoyed our meals and will definitely eat there next time we visit Marshall.

I'm always looking for fun places to eat outside and this is definitely one! My family and I enjoy sitting on their patio on second Saturday when it's nice outside and having lunch. My favorite is the maverick grilled chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and their amazing sweet tea. Sometimes I just stop in for the tea. If you... More

We had a nice dinner here. The food was good and the service was fast and competent even though the place was busy. We would go back. It would be a good choice for adults or for people travelling with children.

Johnny and Donna Horn serve up some of the best food in East Texas. The atmosphere is eclectic with good old hometown service.

We had 8 people go to the restaurant. Everyone was happy with their food! I had the black and blue burger and it was fantastic! The fried shrimp I tasted was great! I also tasted the boudin bites and tried green tomatoes. The boudin bites were too breaded for my taste. Fried green tomatoes were great! They had a light... More

On a business trip, and just had to have me some cajun gumbo for lunch and rumor had it that this was the place to find it! Rumor had it right for I was not disappointed when I sat down to a big ole bowl of pipin hot chicken and sausage savoryness! Perfectly able to sop up the delicious roux... More
