Amazing view of the sea. The food is pretty good, mostly fish and sea food based. We took a taxi from the center of Athens and it took about 1 hour but the view was totaly worth it.

Well ambience is top.... a beautiful relaxing romantic atmosphere by the sea.... food was quite good slightly pricey but however an overall positive experience with a very y good service

Description
When the Labros restaurant was built in 1889 Vouliagmeni was a very remote destination for Athenians. Meeting point for gourmets of the capital since the time of Charilaos Trikoupis… sign ‘’In the name of the Holy Trinity Sotirios years ΑΩΠΘ“(1889) reigns of George Trikoupi premiership. The approval on Eccl. Minister Panagiotis Manetta abbot council the Law of the Monastery Asomaton the Petrakis consisting of the Abbot Symeon this Korovesis ex Keratea Lavrio Monk and the Directors Artemije Tsirigoti monk Neophytos dour Monk (provisional) And Michael Monk Dionysius erected spends the monastery the first in the Vouliagmeni Vari Municipality Kropias cafe-restaurant two-storey building XXX rooms XXXII bath tubs constructed it to the bath tubs carriageway n route after the bridge.. Irrefutable, witness this centenary history is the marble slab that is embedded in the hall of the restaurant is a jewel and treasure together Luck and Gods will, but also the foresight of Louka Labrou, safeguarded this historical plate from many adventures and dangers, during a very unstable period of wars and occupations. But certainly, the most important risk presented during the German occupation and it is worth mentioning what happened then. In the mid 30’s, lessee of the building, owned by Petrakis Monastery is a Cephalonian named Avgerinos, an eccentric man, homogeneous from Ethiopia, where he served as secretary of Emperor Haile Selassie. Then in 1935 arriving in Vouliagmeni and entering the history of the restaurant are the brothers Loukas & Kostas Labrou. Coming from Kyriaki in Levadia the two brothers become partners of Aygerinos, in this secluded tavern at the end of the road leading to Lake Vouliagmeni. Vouliagmeni back then, is an ideal place of daily trips for the Athenians since at the time both cars and roads made a quite big trip. This is the peaceful, ” primitive ” era of Vouliagmeni until the time WWII begins. When the WWII reaches Greece the Labros brothers are of the first to dispatch for the front line. German invasion puts an end to resisting and starts the dark era of occupation. Loukas Labrou would walk days and nights back to a deserted Vouliagmeni. The other brother Costas, had returned earlier seriously wounded by Italian bullets in the battle of Permit. They return then both in their restaurant and their partner Avgerinos. But the Germans soon arrive and Vouliagmeni. The tavern is a unique place in dimensions and strategic location, in the bay of Vouliagmeni, and is the first building that is occupied. The German in charge ordered the immediate evacuation of the building, to be delivered empty with wide open doors and windows to the military administration. 9322_144015501985_140035341985_3133124_1893987_n The peace for the place ends as the Labrou brothers load everything they have in a truck in order to leave. The first concern of the Germans, a general distemper and some other repairs of the building. Only the marble sign on the wall reminds now of the peaceful tavern. Occupation and restoration threatens the sign which is the history of this place. This is at this point when the last loads are taken into the truck that Loukas Labrou tries to take the marble sign. He climbs on a ladder and takes the sign of, but due to its material, marble, its extremely heavy to carry out so he and his brother Costas, decide to take the marble sing to the basement and dig it there. The plate will remain the, until the end of WWII. The Labrou brothers will now go to Athens, where with hard work and effort will open a tavern in Monastiraki square in the corner of Hephaestus. After the departure of the Germans, and on December 4, 1944 in riots erupt the new tavern will be completely destroyed by fire. So Labros brothers are back to zero. Once again their effort and fortune is lost. But they don’t give up, they decide to return in Vouliagmeni. When they do they find out that the place is a ruin, a destroyed building lacking doors and windows. The two brothers (Aygerinos is old and has given his share to the brothers) with personal work and with little savings they had left, manage to restore the building’s old form. Of course do not forget the historical plaque sleeping in the basement. The dig and find it, clean it and place it in the old location. The white marble returns to Attica’s sky and the blue sea, so white that it’s doesn’t betray the dark years of occupation.1934267_166706521985_2055129_n The years will pass and the humble road will become a wide avenue, Vouliagmeni a cosmopolitan suburb of Athens and Labros Tavern will become best known for the fresh fish and prime location. The entire building is made of stone, part of which still survives. Labros family with many years in food industry knows the recipe for success. “The trends and habits may have changed, but one element remains constant nonnegotiable: the high quality of what we offer is the parameter that gives us added value, gaining customer confidence something that will establish you in the market.». Today, after a renovation that added beauty to the historic shop, the marble slab remains in the same place, identity and icon together, to commemorate the passing of an entire century. As Labros already in the second century of life of our ambition is to continue the tradition of good food, create new friends, offering quality and service.
