Always come to Garabaldi when we travel to tenerife..there are so many places to eat but this one and a couple of others which i have reviewed stand out..its off the strip! And exudes an air of being more upmarket than some of its neighbours..its...prices are above the main stream but the quality of food and service warrents this..il be back!!More
Having walked passed this place many times over the years & thinking it looked nice & classy, my wife & I thought this was the perfect opportunity to make a visit - we were just on a short trip away together (long weekend....no kids!) and...were staying just across the road at the fantastic Villa Cortes.
Booking made and secured on-line, which seemed to take them a little by surprise on our arrival - but, we were shown to a table. The welcome can only be described as 'frosty' at best by the young waiter who's body language was somewhat solemn. Our drinks & food orders were taken in reasonable time, and to be fair the starters were of a decent standard (Caprese Salad & Lobster Soup) however - a glaring omission of warm bread which is clearly highlighted on the menu as compulsory, unless you tell them otherwise (......which we didn't, as we wanted some, but to no avail). My wife ordered Lamb Chops (6 as listed on the menu), which arrived under-cooked, fatty & laced with salt - there was also no sauce to accompany it which made it a very dry, bland and tasteless affair. I ordered the fillet steak with gorgonzola - again, very average at best & really expected much better. Wife had some ice-cream, and I had a Barraquito - when the bill came.......................yes, you guessed it - we had been charged for the bread & butter!! - we challenged this and the waiter snatched the bill back and returned with an amended copy - no sign of an apology or any remorse! I commented to my wife that I wondered how many times they get away with this 'tactic' on a weekly basis - something I certainly wasn't expecting of an established restaurant of this stature!. We paid the bill, and hastily left..........to never return!!.
(ps - on a slight positive, the live pianist was very good!).More
We enjoyed a beautiful high quality meal at this restaurant and Wish we had found it sooner, not surprising this restaurant has been in business for many years , One criticism is the portions could be slightly bigger but the fillets steak was absolutely beautiful
We have eaten here on Valentine’s Day and our wedding anniversary for the last 12 years and many times before we were married, it has always been our favourite restaurant in Playa, this valentines however was our worst experience, we booked a table for 8pm,...we arrived at 7:50 and were sat at our table we then were not approached for a drink order until 8:15. The restaurant was full but they seemed to not have enough staff on, all the staff looked stressed and there wasn’t a smile or a welcome on any of their faces. The food was average on this visit even though it has always been superb in the past.More
We booked a table online for the Garibaldi restaurant, on the restaurant’s official web site and received a confirmation email from them, with confirmation number etc. We looked forward to our visit, which was on Valentines Day. We made our booking the day before our...visit.
The day after our booking, 5 hours before our seating time, we received a mail that the booking had been moved 2 hours from 19:30 to 21:30...
We went to the restaurant to sort out their mistake, but they explained that it was not their fault, it was the fault of the booking system 😂🤣
The food is probably great, and the restaurant looks really nice and neat, but we never had the opportunity to try it...
For booking: forget their online booking system...More
