Came here for an early New Years Eve dinner. Food was good... really good! The bacon wrapped filet was amazing. Save room for one of their pies for dessert. We tried the Coconut Cream Pie, peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream, and 4 layer red velvet cake. Worth the drive!

Unassuming cafe on the outskirts of Needville, Tx. Went in on a busy Friday at lunch time. Immediately seated and service was excellent. Typical diner/cafe atmosphere where the food is the star not the ambience. Had the Little Tex (half order of chicken fried steak) with two sides. Perhaps the best CFS I've eaten in a long time. Not greasy,... More

Awesome place to eat as well as friendly employees. The chicken strips are very good. Portion are enough for take-home for another meal.

We've been to the Jay Cafe on several occasions. Food is always great as well as the service. Some of the items that we've had are classic burgers, chicken fried chicken, and fried catfish. All great. Fried okra was very good also. They're known for their desserts, but we haven’t saved room for them yet. We'll be back to try... More

Visited here on a Sunday for lunch. The service was really good and folks are friendly. But my meal was AWESOME! The hot Bacon salad dressing is great. Turkey and dressing was good as well. I've never had turkey breast SO moist.

We've patronized this restaurant for several several years and they have always had consistently great food and service. Good desert too. Highly recommend this restaurant

That is the only way to describe this establishment. From the place, to the food, to the staff, to the restrooms. I loved this place, I wish it was closer to Houston. Cute little diner with outstanding down home cooking and delicious pies. The staff is very friendly, in a true country Texas way. The bathrooms were clean and smelled... More

Delicious food in the middle of nowhere. I had the 6 fried shrimp dish with corn and fried okra. The corn had fresh herbs mixed in it. Delicious. My coworker ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and loved it. There were pies that from the description looked great but we were too full to try them. Might be worth it the... More

Great environment, staff and food. Daily specials for lunch are the way to go. I had the Salisbury steak with a cup of soup and salad. All good. The peach cobbler was plentiful and oh so good.
