So glad we found this gem. This small, humble and unassuming cafe has the best Mexican food I have ever eaten. So good, we stopped again on our way out of town.

We have gone come here several times and have always had great breakfast tacos, good size and nice prices. Many variety of items at reasonable prices but had the enchiladas today and they were not very tasty. The beans and rice were good, the other party had caldo (beef soup) and they loved it. The service is excellent and the... More

If you're a restaurant snob, don't bother - Monterey Cafe isn't attractive on the inside or the outside. On the other hand, if you like to eat where the working crowd goes for breakfast tacos and lunch, and you like really good Mexican food, try this place. The salsa is spicy and tasty. The guacamole is creamy and handmade. Menudo... More

Don't let the word breakfast taco remind you of something from dunking donuts. It is quite large and filling and ordering more than a couple is a mistake. The breakfast nachos are also amazing and authentic. Service was wonderful.

Mexican plates for lunch...includes entree..steak ranchero, fajitos, chalupas, guacamole, and more plus rice and beans. Just being the border or being in Monterrey, Mexico.

Visited this restaurant to have dinner with family members who recommended it. We were not disappointed. A large menu gives you plenty of selection and efficient wait staff kept the wait to a minimum. Definitely a "hole-in-the-wall" which is my kind of place. My wife and I both enjoyed our food and we will be back.

I have been going to this place regularly for over a year. It has steadily gone down hill regarding Customer Service. Don't get me wrong, the food is excellent but the service is HORRIFIC. They need to clean up there act and staff more then on person to run the front room. Customers expect nice, friendly, quick service and good... More

Migas are THE reason that I come here. I never tried anything else because they're so good. Oh, and salsa is GREAT!
