I've heard about this place for several years, but there is often a wait. Reservations are generally recommended. But, our teen recently was out of town on a school trip, so we dropped in. It was perhaps 6:30 on weekend night, but they could seat us in the wine room. Yes, the restaurant has expanded over the years, enveloping former... More

From the outside you might think this place isn't worth your time. It's in an older strip shopping center and wouldn't catch your attention if you even noticed it. Sadly, if you drive by and don't stop in your missing excellent Chinese cuisine. It is truly a hidden gem in the Plano restaurant scene. On this visit we had an... More

As with many restaurants whose roots started outside the US, the authenticity tends to get diluted to accommodate the American palate. Yao Fuzi is not much different. While there are certainly a number of dishes that I would describe as "Americanized", there is a healthy list of choices that remain authentic Chinese. This cozy restaurant is popular enough that it... More

This restaurant used to be a favorite of ours, but after today we will never go back. The service was absolutely terrible. All the waitresses appeared to be angry about something from the moment we walked in. When we arrived the restaurant was not busy at all; there was only one other table with customers. There were a number of... More

This is, hands down, the best Chinese food we have ever eaten anywhere! It's a small restaurant with lovely ambiance and attentive service. The food is the real star of this show. It's fresh and the flavors are authentic. It's located in a strip center behind Blue Goose Mexican cantina. You will be hooked!

Yao Fuzi is a great value for lunch which we had. Familiar dishes and dishes for the more adventurous. Good portion size. Lunch is served with a soup or salad. Service was good. Water was replenished regularly. Payment was completed in a timely manner.

We eat at Yao Fuzi about once or twice a month. They have the best Hot and Sour soup! We tried the Peking Duck last night and it was wonderful! You have to order it a day in advance since it is a detailed process for them to prepare. Yao Fuzi is our "go to" Chinese place!

An interesting variety of dishes await the adventurous diner. They are also known for their selection of Martini's although they were out of Ice Wine during my visit. We did not get to try the Ice Wine Tini. The entrees were all excellent and there was plenty to eat. All the dishes came with a nice presentation from Kris, our... More

I love this place. It is my absolute, all-time favorite Chinese restaurant. The owners are very sweet and welcoming. The ambiance is stellar - traditional Chinese restaurant with a fine dining touch. I get the seafood clay pot dish, but my friends and I have pretty much tried everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. Their wonton soup... More
