The place has a great home /local feel. I am glad we tried it. It was not overly busy either. We both had grilled shrimp poor boys that were really good. We are going back for breakfast.

We just saw this place and decided to stop in for a quick lunch. The service was grest. Kelly our server was very friendly. The food was delicious. My family had fried and fresh boiled shrimp. I had a very basic grilled chicken breast and green beans. They were fabulous and as good if not better than mine. The one... More

Friendly service, great breakfast. I had a traditional breakfast and found the eggs (over easy) cooked to perfection, loved the grits and sausage. Wife had the waffle and it was done crispy. Pecans were finely chopped so the waffle was well saturated with the pecan flavor. - next time, I'm getting the waffle.

Avery's has home cooked food. Their breakfast is awesome! We come every time we visit. Recommend to get there before 10am especially during spring break or you may have to wait. Their waffles are so good!

Sometimes, I just want a "Mom and Pop" kitchen/diner for breakfast. This was the place to perfection. I got there, asked what was good. Waitress said "Homemade Corned Beef Hash". Well, the ended it right there for me. We ordered it and split the plate. Not that it was expensive (it wasn't), but that it was such a generous portion.... More

We have visited before and found the breakfast buffet less than fresh looking. However, we had a good breakfast off the menu. Tried again--still an unappetizing looking buffet. We again ordered from the menu--omelets. They were fine.

If you want good service and simply fresh fried fish and shrimp for a decent price in Port A try Averys'! Great lunch spot with a nice salad bar and tasty crab cakes (imitation crab but still tasty). They also have a great breakfast buffet. Cash only though.

After a drive, we were hungry and checked reviews. This place got high reviews. How, I'm not sure. We arrived for late lunch and were told the buffet was still going. On the buffet were four fried shrimp, two fried catfish fillets, 8 fried oysters, and french fries. Do you see a pattern? All of the seafood at this restaurant... More

My husband and I went to Avery's Kitchen for lunch. It is a very small, quaint restaurant with home-style food. I had the chicken fried steak as they were out of the liver and onions. It was okay but didn't have a lot of flavor. My husband had the fish and he said it was very good. The prices were... More
