I've eaten here before and enjoyed it but this meal was very disappointing. I tried the mixed seafood on linguine with alfredo sauce. The pasta was seriously overcooked (mushy) and the alfredo sauce had been over cooked and had broken. On top of that it really needed salt just to try to bring out the flavor. Waitress did offer a... We asked hotel staff for the best seafood in Port Aransas and they recommended Shells. This restaurant only has 9 tables inside, so we waited about 45 minutes for a table. We waited another 1/2 hour for a waitress to appear. This should have been our clue to leave. We ordered fried oysters as an appetizer ($11.99). There were 4... More

Have eaten at this local establishment many times over the years. Recently it seems like it's been hit or miss. I had the Scallops with Linguine and was pretty disappointed. Pasta was overcooked, to soft, and the sauce wasn't very thick. Plus there just weren't enough scallops.

Had dinner with family and I have to say we all had a great meal. The wait was about 45 min, but we bought a bottle of wine and enjoyed the weather in the seated area outside. Waitress was helpful for suggestions, fried oysters, mango civeche, fish of the day and seafood gumbo.... worth the wait.

There is not one good seat in the entire restaurant and you are basically sitting in the kitchen. We had to continually listen to the manager/owner (we think) complain to and about his employees during the entirety of the meal. Where we sat, the staff constantly bumped our chairs and had very unprofessional conversations. Food was very basic and nothing... More

Ate lunch outdoors at this restaurant. Ordered hamburger & the hotdog. The meat was fine for both but bread was way too thick on both orders. The aioli sauce was too thick on both. Very fair food.

Unique and delicious chef created menu and freshly baked bread in a little bitty place that looks like it was once a gas station. We were very pleasantly surprised, the food rivaled any fancy place around.

We stumbled onto Shells by accident one day when we were driving around and hungry and that was a great day! Since then, we make it a point to visit every chance we get. The menu is so varied that you can get everything from local seafood to ahi tuna to Asian specialties to candied bacon. Yes, I said candied... More
