Went to this place for a pre Valentine dinner. None of us had ever been there but will be back! Great food and service. The Classic Cafe is in an old house and they have it laid out so each room gives you a intimate dining experience.

My wife and I went there for Valentine's Day. Despite a full house we never felt rushed and the staff never seemed rattled. The menu was limited that night but was very well done. My wife had the filet mignon with mushroom dust and I had the tuna au poive. Both were top notch. My starter was a smoked red... More

The Classic Cafe is housed in an older home in the quaint town of Roanoke. This lends to a cozy atmosphere for the memorable meals that are served. Cuisine is updated southern, with a nice selection of salads, appetizers, seafood, meat and desserts. Many of the ingredients are locally sourced, sometimes from their own garden! The wine list is extensive... More

It's difficult to find a restaurant that can match the consistent high standard of service, food, and ambience found here. Judging by the number of other diners last night, we are not the only ones who think so. It's a wonderful choice for special occasions, out of town guests, or any time you want a good meal in a warm,... More

Stopped in for lunch yesterday and we're pleasantly surprised at the white clothed tables amid different rooms. I think this must have been a house before becoming a restaurant. The wait staff is delightful. The owner peruses the establishment welcoming his customers. Nice gentlemen. The bar is a unique spot for a libation. Dark paneling envelopes the room. The menu... We enjoyed gourmet food and a glass of wine while listening to live classical guitar. Our waitress was perfect. Special place for either a casual getaway dinner or a special occasion. Will definitely return.

Just superb. The staff. The setting. The service. And oh. The food! Ask for daily specials. Highest recommendation. (Try the crem brûlée.)

Our second trip here, once for our anniversary & again for birthday. Great meals & service both times. Our waiter, Chris, is very knowledgeable about wine choices. The Classic is now our favorite dining experience for special occasions.

On a Thursday night, felt like a Saturday night. Quiet, soft live guitar, double table cloths, white glove service, and superb two-filet trout in lemon and capers with a small side of German braised red cabbage. Parsnip soup starter.Olive oil bread requires no butter. Truly decadent pumpkin bread pudding. Sign up for their email to get monthly three course prix... More

I took a group of 24 people to dinner and it could not have been better. The service was great and the food outstanding! We had a private room which worked great for out group.
