My parents and I stayed at the hotel across the street. We decided to look for BBQ. We found this jewell and loved it! The meal is great, but for us one of the best things was the staff. From the minute we walked in to when we left, we were treated to and made part of the good natured... More

Wow! i keep sniffing the smoke on my fingers after chowing down on 1/2 a sausage sandwich and 1/2 a brisket sandwich (my beloved ate the other 1/2s), properly dressed with hamburger pickle slices, thick sliced onions, pickled jalapeños and NO sauce. The sandwiches are big honking buns heartily stuffed with meat. I loved how the sausage was cut in... More

We enjoy getting to eat at RJ's. The brisket and sausage are excellent. The two meat meal comes with excellent potato salad and pinto beans and more meat than you can eat for one meal. We always have enough meat left over to eat for lunch the next day! And do not pass up the peach cobbler.....what a treat!

They have a sign-"Good BBQ is not cheap, Cheap BBQ is not good." Theirs is neither cheap nor good. They have perfected the technique of hiding the fat in the middle of sandwich with lesser meat. $10.00 for a small sandwich and drink was a bit much.

Good place for Barbecue, good flavor. Mid size inside and busy during the lunch/dinner rush, better to go on off time if your not in a hurry.

We took a chance at this restaurant when passing through San Angelo on our way to Amarillo. Although the pulled pork was sold out for the day, we ordered the brisket sandwich. The bun was toasted with a slight crunch and the brisket was moist and delicious. The sandwich was too large for me to eat, but I couldn't stop... More

Great food! Disregard other reviews regarding bad service, we are happy to report a positive experience. Excellent food, generous portions. It's not the Ritz, so don't expect white linen tablecloths and folded napkins, but you'll leave with your belly full of good food.

My family and I were going back home after a week of the Balloon Festival in Albuquerque and a visit to Santa Fe. We also took in some gambling--- but stopping at RJ's BBQ for lunch was a gamble that definitely paid big time. Our brisket sandwiches were excellent and the peach cobbler was a winner. I spoke to the... More
