This was a quaint little place with just plain old home cooking and friendly service. I was surprised at the variety on the menu. Lots of good things to pick from. The fried fish special was wonderful.

We are a big fan of Abels and go there every time my wife and I are in town visiting family. Abels is now in a much larger place but the food choices have not changed. In fact, the menu changes constantly and everything taste fresh and home made. I think we have had nearly everything on the menu at... More

Food was better at old location. Maybe more quality control there. Had the BLT for dinner. Could not eat as a sandwich as it kept falling apart. Once you remove the toothpick holding each quarter together, the sandwich is history. Grand daughter had the grilled cheese but the cheese was not even melted. Waitress disappeared after food was served. Had... More

Tight menu, but good service and good food. Friendly waitresses and great friendly management. The place is always full as many seniors go for daily dinners. Food is good and price is right! Yes, they have tablecloths. Specials on each day of the week posted.

Always try to get to Abel's on a Wednesday because I really enjoy the fish lunch special and my friend enjoys the beef tips special on Wednesdays. I don't eat too much fish, but this fish isn't fishy and tastes great. Always good service, and never had to wait very long for lunch. Love the new location - no more... More

First time visiting the new location and we were not disappointed! Gotta say, customer service was incredible - every one was so nice. Hubby had soup and salad and we shared the pepper steak (with steak fries, salad, black eyed peas). The soup, clam chowder, was divine! Pepper steak was cooked perfectly and definitely lived up to the heat!

Had a good meal (they recommend their chicken fried steak and hamburgers) and the food was good an plentiful. Service was a tad slow on bringing out the food and bringing us the check. But perhaps this was just "Southern mosey speed". Left bellies full and happy.

The staff goes out of their way to make the dining experience a good one. The food is good and abundant. The prices are pretty good.
