Old Jody's is across the street from "New" Jody's. Don't make the mistake of going in the wrong one. I had the chicken fried steak. It was probably the best I ever had. The meat was high quality and fresh. Tender to eat (my last one at another restaurant I gave up on it was so hard to eat). My... More

Jody's has been serving up Texas country food for many years. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming iwith a true Texas vibe. The employees are always friendly and welcomong. I love the burgers and onion rings.

Traveling between Austin and Dallas, we were craving a chicken fried steak. Googled this place (didn't want a chain). What a treat! Very unassuming from the outside, inside, it's rustic, all Texas and has a great staff. I had a wardrobe malfunction & came in the door needing a safety pin. All of the ladies that worked there hustled around... More

The food and the servings are amazing. This is not a fancy restaurant with tablrlcloths. Far from it. This restaurant is crowded with ordinary plain tables, but the food more than makes up for it. We had a group of 10 and almost everyone ordered something different. Everyone was very pleased with the food. Appetizers are huge, so unless you... More

Food consistently good, served hot and fresh. This restaurant is crowded but service is usually fast. Serving sizes are filling.

Jody's is a Temple icon and their food is a throw back to the 50s and 60s. Some of their food is very good, while some is not. If you like chicken fried steak, hamburgers and limp French fries, this is your place.

Haven't been to Old Jody's in a long time and the food is as good as I remember. I met friends there yesterday and had the catfish filets, which were great, but I wish the tarter sauce was a little better. One friend had the catfish filets also, which she liked too, and the other had the hamburger steak with... More
