Al T's serves good cajun cooking! I always order my favorite which is the catfish with étouffée, so I can't comment on other dishes. Service is good and the place is busy and often crowded. I preferred seating along the side hallway because it is quieter and a better place to visit over lunch.
Walked in and placed a to go order consisting of a bowl of shrimp gumbo with a side salad. Total came to $12.13. Side salad was unremarkable however they included tarter sauce instead of ranch dressing by mistake. Shrimp gumbo was advertised as special house recipe, however it was bland, and boring. Dark soupy juice with shrimp and nothing else... More
This restaurant is 2 blocks off I10 and a wonderful place to stop for a break in travel. I had a bowl of shrimp gumbo, perfectly seasoned and had at least one shrimp in every bite. My grandson had the sausage and chicken gumbo and it had big pieces of chicken (had to be cut to eat). He said it... More
While driving from Florida to California we spent the night in Winnie. Decided to Walk to Al T's for some authentic local food over the regular fast food/chain choices available everywhere. Easily within short walking distance of many hotels. Upon entering we were greeted by a friendly hostess and immediately seated. Our waitress Kaylynn was just as quick and super... More
Dirty Herby's for two, rib eye, ettouffee, on dirty rice? You killing me. Not the most accommodating so I do not go there anymore. If you can handle poor customer relations, the food is good. I refuse to give them anymore of my money.

Was in this great restaurant this afternoon in time for buffet (this was a first). I got the small. THEY serve your plate! I have had gastric surgery and was unable to eat all my food. I asked for a container but was told I could not take home if got buffet?? I did not serve myself--they did!! Had there been a sign stating "no take home food from buffet", I would have chosen to order from the menu!! Knowing I could not complete my meal, I would have been able to take home "leftovers!" Could certainly understand this "rule" IF WE SERVED OURSELVES!! Many would overload their plates JUST to take home leftovers! 1) had water, not tea, 2) had no dessert-- both of which came with the buffet! Something should be changed, even if it's putting up a BIG sign!! Food was very good, just sad I couldn't bring home!! I also returned $10.00 that was given to me in my change that was not correct! Everyone is human! Sure I'll be back, but not to the buffet!
