Nothing spectacular on the menu except for the brews. They offer their own and a wide selection of other beers and ales, plus wine and cocktails. Dining area is usually crowded and loud, and is not separate from the bar.

Amazing Service and great food!! I love the decor and the hand done paintings. We were lead to our table quickly, the waitress was knowledgeable in the beers available and the food came out quick! Definitely would recommend!!!

Great burgers, excellent french fries, right in downtown Bennington. Good selection of beers made on the premises. Our regular Bennington lunch stop. Try them out!

The food was typical bar food, nothing special. The beer was decent, but not worth the wait...waitress took forever to pour two beers. The location is good, right in the middle of Main Street...but there are better options.

I'm sorry if it took a while for your beers to be poured. We take pride in serving perfect pints, and we'd never rush the process. I hope you'll give our brews another chance. Cheers, Madison Brewing More

I ordered the fish and chips. The fried fish came HOT and flaky. The fries were hot , as well, which is a plus, in my book. The coleslaw was delicious...and I am not a fan of coleslaw. A great place.

We're thrilled to know your fish was fried to a flaky perfection and was complemented perfectly by hot, crispy fries, Sharon! Coleslaw sounds like the perfect side to round out that meal. All that's missing is a beer -- we hope you enjoyed a few of our brews, too! We're looking forward to welcoming you back next time you're in... More

We were on our way to Brattleboro, but hungry for lunch so my husband used the GPS to find our way. Madison Brewing was a delight, so much better than any franchise. The most difficult part was making a choice of what to order, beer and food- so many attractive selections. The lunch special was country style meatloaf with cheddar... More

We're so glad you found us, Veronica. It's awesome that our homemade chips made an impression -- we've been using the same recipe for over 20 years! Your husband made a great choice in going with our meatloaf and cheesy potato special, and our BLT is a fan favorite, too. We can't wait to welcome you back for more brews... More

The hubs and I went here as part of our Southern Vermont beer crawl. The beers were alright, but the calamari was excellent. Try it with chipotle mayo.

Stopped here on a Sunday afternoon apres ski. The menu was varied. We had the Irish fries as an appetizer- it could have sufficed for our lunch! They were delicious-with yummy cheese, and toppings. I had the Vermont cheddar ale soup which was served hot and tasted amazing. As far as the beer - I had the Chocolate Stout- first... More

Food is reliably good - not great - but good and reasonably priced. Service is always good. Seating area upstairs is quieter for a more cozy dining experience. Downstairs has a "Cheers" feel.

Description
The Madison family has deep roots in the Bennington, Vermont. As locals growing up and living in the area, the Madison's have deep ties to the community and in the early 1990's the family decided to purchase what was then a burned out storefront in Bennington's historic downtown, and convert it into the area's first brew pub. "My brother Mark was part of the inspiration" says co-owner Mel Madison. "He become passionate about brewing beer as a hobby... And that let us to the idea of starting a brew pub." From those humble beginnings, the brewery has developed six regular brews plus a seasonal brew. To complement the brewing is the lunch and dinner offerings as well as Madison's own home-made chips - a favorite at the bar or anyplace. Now into its second decade of operation, the brew pub has become a Bennington fixture and a favorite amongst the locals. We encourage you to stop in and discover for yourself everything Madison's Brewing Company has to offer!
