Great little place to stop for a bite to eat... had an amazing grass fed burger here. Loved it. Would definitely stop back here again.

Breakfast at Chelsea Royal Diner this morning was delivered speedily, cooked fresh and very tasty. This eatery serves as much local fare as possible starting with our coffee which came from local Mocha Joe's. Staff is friendly, food is good and locals eat here. Do I need to say more? They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Thursday and Friday nights... More

I took my 2 year old daughter here for lunch. It's a good diner- I got a grilled chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries which was quite tasty. My daughter got pancakes which she enjoyed. Everything was cooked well and they have a varied menu for most tastes. A couple things to note- they don't take credit cards- so we... More

Went for breakfast. Coffee weak, my husband's eggs tough, sausage gritty and unfortunately I ordered some "Special" quiche-like baked breakfast that I could not finish. It sank to the bottom of my stomach like a bowling ball, and made me sick for half the day! We stopped going here years ago because it's dirty and it hasn't improved. Service was... More

Good old fashioned diner, with friendly service and generous helpings. We had the Royal: pancakes, waffle, eggs, hash browns - with real Vermont maple syrup. And we didn't need to eat for the rest of the day. The only bummer was the "cash only" policy, and the ATM machine outside the door was broken.

This is one of the most fun dinners we've had in a long time. A complete surprise and a wonderful one. The waitress was a delightful character right out of Durgan Park, Boston but better. The food was delicious and shockingly perfectly cooked. And what a deal - the price is right!

The service was excellent and the food even better. I've eaten in many places but the Chelsea Royal is a standout. I had the tuna special and it rivaled White tablecloth establishments at a fraction of the price. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a hearty meal!

No longer amazing...solidly average. Burgers cooked as requested (medium rare) so that started things out well. But the 'blue cheese' was actually the consistency and taste of bottled blue cheese dressing (e.g. Kraft, Ken's etc.) - perhaps expectations were off but we thought it would actually be a bit of blue cheese rather than what seemed to be blue cheese... We stumbled across the diner a few years ago and we stop everytime we make it to VT. Great breakfast! Farm to table items, big portions, nostalgic setting. A true VT stop.

We stopped here on a whim and I'm glad we did. We were wanting a late breakfast and something vegetarian. We were in the way Mass MOCA for my birthday. I had the best zucchini bread French toast and my husband and daughter got the California Benedict. We all loved the food and the service was great! Almost worth the... More
