I stopped in for a quick lunch before a movie. I had a hankering for the fish tacos. A la carte, they are $5 each, and while kind of small, they were excellent. Nice choices of hot sauces, beers, plates and platters. I was still hungry so I tried a choriza taco which was nice a spicy. Looks like a... More

The building is an olde diner (you know--a converted railroad car), which is always fun. Crowded, but who cares? I don't think they take reservations, so get there early for whatever meal you have in mind. The burritos were particularly good, and all the drinks were outstanding. The staff were knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and remarkably accommodating--you can add or leave... More

Great margaritas, great tacos, sometimes i wish they had more variety on their menu. Everything tastes great but sometimes the space can feel claustrophobic. It is very quirky but small and busy at times.

We were looking for a cozy restaurant to a have a relaxing dinner on a breezy autumn evening. El Cortijo was the perfect place. It was a busy Sunday evening but we managed to snag a large comfy booth. Our server was warm and welcoming. She was knowledgeable about the menu. El Cotijo serves Mexican cuisine. The food was fresh,... More

We hit the jackpot last weekend; there was an available table without waiting! We have been here a few times in the last year and each time there was a lenghty wait. Tacos are delicious; our server was very sweet and helpful with all of our questions. Can't wait to go back!

This place is small, very small. Approximately 10 booths and a bar small. I saw one booth that might ve able to seat 6, but otherwise they cant accommodate more than a party of 4. But the place is cute, its an old diner. I got a fish taco which was fine but ive definitely had better. Also had a... More

Just had a great meal at El Cortijo: a wonderful marguerita, delicious tacos and burrito with local meats and dressed greens. Before ordering, I asked the bartender about the different items and he described each one's ingredients without hesitation. Everything was fresh and so very tasty. Highly recommended.

While visiting Burlington, we decided to try out El Cortijo for lunch. Tacos were DELISH and much healthier than typical Mexican fare. Our favorite was the Carnitas Tacos. Terrific drink menu too. Highly recommend if you are looking for a simple, delicious meal near town.

Both my husband and I love Mexican Food but this didn't quite meet our expectations. We started off with the chips with queso fundido and salsa verde (not too flavorful). I had a taco place (chicken) with rice and black beans. My husband had two tacos (one carnitas and one chorizo) no sides. We both had margaritas (very average). Overall,... More

Great menu heavy on special taco's. We tried a few veggie ones which were great and you gotta have the fish taco. This place is not big and could get full. we sat on the bar which was great.
