I almost always meet someone interesting dining at Handys! The long breakfast counter is friendly and inviting. Had the hash with eggs over easy. Classic breakfast made well. Service was friendly and attentive.

Stopped by Handy's Lunch counter on Maple ST yesterday. Two fine cheeseburgers ($8.95) and fries, delicious, simple and comfortable at Burlington's oldest family run restaurant. Not expensive and you get to chat with the owners, other diners, its a hoot.

This place isn't bad but it's certainly nothing special. I had a bacon and cheddar omelet that was alright. The potatoes were fried, overcooked terrible. The coffee was surprisingly good. The lady that served me at the counter was very nice!

This little place is hard to find, and ever harder to get a parking spot. However, walk - or crawl if you need to - to visit this neat little diner. The place just oozes history, and each of the menu items has a great...More

We read about this place and went there for breakfast one morning. A small little bar seating restaurant the is run by the 3rd family generation. The food was great and friendly. Be ready to share your experiences with others seating around the bar.

Sat down to eat breakfast at Handy's and Earl came over and introduced himself. He's the third generation owner of this Luncheonette. Every seat was taken...the big reason is Earl. He makes you feel at home, connects with the customers. The food here is good,...More

Yes we do! They are actually a booster seats that hooks right up on the counter! I'm a father of twins and they are the inspiration behind the chairs. We are very family friendly and look forward to seeing you!

Hungry? You won't be after you've eaten a Handy's Big Daddy Breakfast (curious? Come on in to try one!) Or our famous Texas Chili dogs with a side of fries and an ice cold Coke. At Handy's, we make it our mission to not only fill you up with delicious food but to also make you part of our family...Sixty years strong and still growing! Food for thought (no pun intended),we were voted "Best Place to Meet a Stranger" by Seven Days.....So whether you choose to dine alone or with a group, we always have a seat waiting for you at Handy's.

P.S. UVM also lists Handy's Lunch as one of their Top 25 Things to Do Before you Graduate...Not that we're saying you haven't graduated yet........Alums also welcome!
