Stumbled upon Thai dishes on a Sunday an hour before it closed. Sat at table with an open garage door style view of the street. Sweet woman served us. Customized my wife’s cashew stir fry dish with extra garlic. Absolutely delicious flavored sauce. I had...More

We love Thai food and have enjoyed it in many locations worldwide, especially Bangkok and Phenom Penh during the 1990s and other cities in the U.S. throughout the years. But this restaurant is a terrible exception, despite the fact that the ratings of this restaurant...More

Nice place, classic decor. Great service and tasty food. We had several dishes such as Drunken Noodle, Pad Thai, etc. All fresh and spiced according to requests. I would definitely return.

Thai Dishes is a great place to go for some good Thai right on lower Church Street in Burlington, just below City Hall. The owner used to own Royal Orchid in Montpelier & Ocha in Waterbury. Both were fantastic places to get authentic Thai food....More

Here's what I like about this place: The food is good, the service is quick, it's never hard to get a table, the location at the bottom of Church Street is excellent. Here's what I don't like: it's rather chilly (probably due to the large...More

We had dinner here on a very cold evening. We had Tom Yum soup — which was rich with vegetables — but the flavors were not strong or intensive. We asked for chili paste as a side to ‘spice things up.’ Our entrees were more...More

Description
Claire and Art Jilandharn own and run two much-loved Thai restaurants in Vermont - Montpelier's Royal Orchid Thai and Middlebury's Sabai Sabai Thai Cuisine - and now they have set roots down in Burlington! The Stir-Fried Rice with Pineapple is an incredible plate with tropical flavor. Jasmine rice is stir fried with egg, cashews, raisins, scallions, vegetables, fresh pineapple, and a skewer of perfectly tender chicken and shrimp. The Spicy Seafood dish has been a bestseller since the restaurant opened its doors. A bed of sauteed peppers and onions holds a combination of sweet seafood - mussels, shrimp, and scallops marinated in chili paste, all with a spicy broth ladled over top. Try your best to save room for dessert - the creamy, coconut-milk marinated Sticky Rice dishes are the perfect end to a Thai Dishes meal!
