The food is good and reasonably priced, I had Chicken Marsala, but the chicken portion was very small and the Risotto was over cooked and somewhat pasty. The room was about 2/3's full and was too noisy for comfortable conversation.

If you haven't been to Manchester Center Vermont.... GO... GO...GO... This is the Kittery, Maine of Vermont. The town is a transposed outlet center with a lot of Vermont charm. So Italian was the request and Garlic John's was the answer. The food was good and hot and the taste was about right for the area. (It's not fair to... More

While the restaurant itself was well lit and looks nice, there was only one other couple sitting at the tables on January 12, 2017 . While the waitress was nice there was constant laughing and party like atmosphere coming from the back kitchen where I could see the group of 20-year-old kids standing around talking who obviously didn't work there.... Just tried this restaurant on the recommendation of friends who indicated it was the only place they go in Manchester, VT and surrounding areas for Italian food. After a slow start, on a not too busy evening, bread was brought to the table where there was a pedestrian bottle of olive oil. Given that, we requested some balsamic, which they... More

The service was slow although there were not many people there. We had a new waitress and she asked if we would like our bill even before our meals came out. Not sure we would go there again

The appetizer and meal were good. Margarita's were bitter with an ingredient I wasn't able to identify. The server was friendly but not at all attentive to the table. We spent about 2 hours for a simple meal. The waitress brought one check for all and when we asked tho owner to break it down he rather rudely suggested we... More

This is an easy trattoria to find on Route 7 with ample parking. We were able to make a reservation, but on week nights that may not be needed. My pasta putanesca was quite good - hot and flavorful - my husband enjoyed his spaghetti and meatballs and our son devoured his chicken Parmesan. The only area needing a bit... More

This restaurant is located a very short driv out of central Manchester, and we managed to get a table for two without booking first. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the menus very varied to cover all tastes. We started with a shared garlic and melted cheese hot bread, served with a Marinara sauce, which was delicious. I chose... More

We came across Garlic Johns while looking for something other than pub food. The wait staff was fantastic, and the food was just what we expected. A nice wine selection rounded out the evening. The chef accommodated my request for a selection that was no longer on the main menu and only available on the kids menu. They made an... More

Convinced friends to eat here when they wanted to go to The Perfect Wife. What a mistake! I hadn't been here in about two years and it has really changed. Well, same decor, same menu, and a sweet kid serving us, but the food was... meh. It used to be so good! My friend wanted a classic pasta dish, but... More
