I was staying in Middlebury with a friend, and we went on Sunday afternoon to Burlington to watch my grandson who is on the UVM hockey team. As a late afternoon game we had planned to grab a pizza after the game, but the restaurant...we had picked for some reason was busy and no walk ins were being taken. So we decided to head back to Middlebury and my friend said Two Brothers should be open. She had not been for years so not sure about the food and even though she had lived there for 40 years.
Arrived after 7 and almost a full house and a very upbeat crown and having fun.
Seated at a nice table and a great waiter. Ordered a burger and fries and my friend had a curry dish. It was the best burger I had in my 10 days in Vermont and most impressed.
The tables next to us had some groups of young Middlebury students and listening to them, it was apparent they were hockey players. As I had played against them some 60 years ago, I asked if any were from Minnesota. None of the boys but on the girls team, the captain from last years championship team was from my old high school, Edina and it was fun talking about school and the hockey program
We enjoyed our meal so much and my friend was really excited as she did not know the food was so good we opted to come the next night for dinner. We had wings, calamari, and a salad and cocktails to start. The wings were great, meaty and good spicing, and the calamari was light and crispy, melt in you mouth. No rubber like some at all. We even popped for a couple of desserts and were more than full.
We enjoyed the whole experience so much: food, staff, atmosphere that when I return to the area, Two Brothers will be on my list for a return visit. And if in the area for anybody, I would put Two Brothers as a must stop. Thanks so much.
