The wayside is the local metting place for most of the locals in the area. The traditional meals and baking are great. Don't ask for a fruit salad or anything made with toffu! But for breakfasts they can be amazingly economical, the pies are legendary, the standard meat and potatoes dishes are hearty and delish. They are usually busy! There... More

The Wayside is diner with a long history of keeping customers happy. The meals are reasonably priced with good sized portions, they are kid-friendly and the waitstaff really do aim to please. The building shows its wear but I find that it's part of the charm and things are kept clean. If you enjoy hometown hospitality, give them a try!

I've never been to the Wayside for their family style dinner but I have had many a good breakfast there. I'm a big fan of a good old eggs, sausage, and home fries breakfast with lots of coffee and the Wayside delivers! Old style booth seating adds to the dinner atmosphere and their prices are very reasonable.

This is the place to go with the family and for seniors. Big portions, home style cooking. A sense of a real Americana. Good food and friendly, long term staff. Love this for BIG breakfasts.

The carnivores in the party fared better than the vegetarians, and the food actually wasn't great. The desserts were amazing however which kind of made up for it. Huge portions.

Dinner on a Sunday Night. Had the beef vegetable soup with fresh yeast rolls. Turkey dinner with squash and cole slaw. No dessert. Food arrived quickly. There was a line and a short wait..

If your have read Blue Highways by William Least Heat-Moon you will understand the importance of local use of restaurants represented by the number of local business calendars. This restaurant was recommended to us by the night clerk at our hotel who uses it every day for breakfast. We ate dinner and tasted different styles of cooking with local maple... More
