Black Sheep Bistro is located in a converted storefront in historic downtown Vergennes. Our family dined there and had an outstanding dinner. As other reviews have noted, each course on the menu is at a fixed price ($8 for soup or salad, $22 for entrees). Homemade mashed potatoes and thin cut French Fries are served family style along with your... More

The food was good and pretty inexpensive (all appetizers were the same price and all the entrees were the same price - maybe $12 and $22?) We also had drinks which were fine. It's a pretty small space but we didn't feel too crowded.

A wonderful dinner with the super staff at Black Sheep. Well worth the expense -- the food is delicious and the service is great. Excellent.

We just visited the restaurant this past Thursday evening, we came in early 545pm without a reservation. We were greeted very warmly and though the restaurant was empty they were expecting a full house, but kindly made room for our table of four. The black sheep is a small place with attentive service. we each had a tasty salad followed... More

If you like to imagine you've been transported to a traditional bistro in France, this is the place for you. It's a relatively small space, tables are close together, and the noise of the individual conversations can be a little challenging. (I know...in France one's restaurant dinner conversations are much more subdued than ours, however...) Our dinner that evening took... More

There's not a lot of choice in Vermont so you might as well try this place, I wouldn't choose to go again, but there's not a lot available and I'm sure it's good by country standards but whatever. Oh yeah, bring warm clothing apparently the don't have heat or just choose not to use it. Food is edible, but presented... More

We enjoyed a table overlooking the busy street in the welcoming dining area. The food was delicous and diverse. Waitstaff were friendly and patient providing information on the preparation of the items offered. A wonderful evening get away in a friendly environment W

This restaurant is a keeper. Yes, there are some problems such as the noise level which I am learning is to be expected. Price first: everything is priced the same in the category of within the meal. All appetizers are 8 dollars and all entrees are 22 dollars. Don't remember the price of the desserts. Quality of food and preparation... More

The Black Sheep Bistro is a laid back place with great food and at very reasonable prices. Apple cauliflower bisque is not what I would normally order but it's very good. In fact, everything we had was very good and the prices are very reasonable. Appetizers are a flat $8 and entrees a flat $22. Their wine (by the glass)... More
