Great restaurant, great food except for the dessert, could do much better. I strongly recommend and would definitely go back.

Every morsel of every dish was balanced and bursting with unique and distinguished flavor. Each course was punctuated by surprise entremets that enhanced what became one of the best dining experienced we've enjoyed this year; amuse-bouche bites, canapes, etc. Servers were professional and engaged in...our dining experience, suggesting wine/food pairings and offering other informed recommendations.More

We looked forward to coming to this French restaurant as it had many great reviews. It did not disappoint! I had Fois Gras served two ways which was made even more enjoyable because our waitress recommended a Sauterne wine pairing (even though we had already...ordered a bottle of red wine). Turned out to be the best wine of our entire trip (see photos). The atmosphere of the restaurant was not stuffy and we both had a wonderful meals. Mine was Duck a L'Orange which was cooked to perfection. It was an open kitchen and I made a point of thanking the kitchen staff after my meal. Many surprises throughout the meal. Unfortunately, I have lost the receipt which would have the waitresses name to praise her (I think it may have been Kasie)...she was efficient, pleasant and helpful.More

A lovely experience if a bit pricey. An intimate yet simple restaurant with the emphasis on the food and wine, which is of course the French way. Our waitress was outstanding and also just happened to be a sommelier as well. The amuse bouch was...just ok. Seemed it had been plated earlier and sat awhile, but the rest of the meal was delicious. We started with seared foie gras, the best we have ever had!!. The poached lobster and risotto sea bass were delicious. The dessert menu was a bit weak. The manager was also delightful to talk with. All in all a delightful evening.More

Our anniversary dinner was as good as it gets. The staff of Fleurie was just fantastic (especially Michael at the front and Melissa Boardman, our server and Wine Director). Melissa guided us through the menu and wine pairings. The starters (seared foie gras & Risotto)...were amazing. The meal (duck and lamb) was equally good. The chef sent out a delicious choice of canapes as well and then some chocolates for after dinner to celebrate our anniversary. Meal could not have been better. We look forward to eating here again in the near future.More

This little French restaurant in Charlottesville, VA is fantastic. Food, Service, chef, ambiance are wonderful, top 5 for me. They have been there 21 years, so that in and of itself says a lat. If you like good French food, with all what you would...expect, good wine, a muse bouche and great service, go there. you will not be disappointed. This was our first discovery trip there but we will be back! This is not a paid for review.More

We had a very fine meal at Fleurie. The food was excellent -- my wife had the lamb and I had the Venison. Both were perfectly cooked, well seasoned and artfully presented. She had the oysters for a starter, the presentation of which was downright...artistic. Between courses there were small dishes of petits fours. What was most remarkable, though was the service. Our server was pleasant, and attentive without hovering or seeming to rush the meal. Whenever we needed something, though, she was right at hand. The setting was low-key and comfortable.More

Tables are crowded together and noise volume is loud. Food is quite good but somewhat overpriced. Service was a disaster -- server poured a glass of my $275 white burgundy into a half full water glass instead of a wine glass and ruined it. I...refused further service by he,r and no additional mishaps occurred -- but it cast a pall on the entire evening.More

Lovely evening with excellent food and wine. V knowledgeable sommelier provided range of unusual wines from around the globe. Scallops and Lobster were superb. An elegant restaurant and relaxed meal over 2-3 hours. Recommend for special occasion as is expensive but then quality costs.

Great food. Imaginative and well executed. Service was efficient and professional. But we felt a bit rushed. Courses arrived very quickly. We were in and out in just over 90 minutes, for a dinner we thought might take two hours ore more. It wasn't as...if they needed the table. (There were several open tables.) Evening a bit complicated by a very loud and boisterous large table of folks next to us, but that is not the restaurant's fault. However, it was hard for us to carry on a conversation.More

It was a truly memorable experience. We were met at the door by a very welcoming hostess who promptly seated us. The service was impeccable - attentive, but not intrusive. Exceptional wine list with both domestic and international Vinyards represented. Appetizers were eclectic in nature....The seared scallops and lobster bisque were fabulous. Our daughter, a vegetarian, found choices to meet her needs, very satisfied with the offerings for both appetizers and entrees. The lobster entree was served already shelled and ready to eat, a nice feature. The portions were reasonably sized. My wife loved the apple tart while the creme brulee was also well received. Overall, a fine dining experience.More

Tiny starters, polite but scant service -- very good mains equates to 95 USD each. Not as good as advertised and these tiny morsel starters can be described only as Parisienne. That isn't fine dining -- not in the rest of France nor the civilized...world. Underwhelming and will not be back.More

Small, intimate French restaurant. Well trained and friendly staff. We were a party of 8, celebrating UVA graduation, as were several other parties. Thus the restaurant was at full capacity and staff and kitchen were very busy. In spite of that, they managed to deliver...wonderful and beautifully prepared dinners. Rack of lamb was outrageous. Another guest had cassoulet; it was delish and passed around the table for others to taste. And, along with dessert, a plate of petite goodies was delivered to the table. All in all, a delightful experience. I would definitely go back if in Charlottesville again.More

We ate at Fleurie to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. We were pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. The atmosphere is lovely. We had a private table in the corner. The meal is well paced by a very pleasant wait staff. We were at the...restaurant relaxing & enjoying for about 3 hours. The food is plentiful & absolutely delicious. We shared our first & third courses so we got to try more things. From the amuse bouche to the surprise treats at the end(which we had to take home because we couldn't eat one more bite), we enjoyed every minute. The apple tart was a show stopper & was one of the best desserts I ever had. The sea bass literally melted in my mouth. The chef surprised us with a course of turnips dusted with black truffle. It doesn't sound special, but was wonderful. We had toured wineries that day so didn't partake as much as we would have liked in the bar. Next time we will add the wine flight on to our meals. Who knew a restaurant of this caliber existed in Charlottesville? We are sure glad we found it & highly recommend you give it a try for your next special occasion.More
