Went mid day, and was not disappointed. The staff was friendly and prompt. The food was fresh and worth the price. I had a burger, and my wife had the fish and chips. Both of us left full. Great stop.

I have been frequenting JMT since they first opened. Reasonable pricing alongside a comfortable atmosphere and delicious offerings makes every visit a treat.

Hubby and l took a drive to the Monterey Maple Festival and on the scenic drive home decided to check out Jack Mason's Tavern in Clifton Forge. What a great little tavern with lots of character. Very friendly staff who welcomed us as we came through the door. The menu had a variety of good options. We chose the pub... More

Jack Mason's is a true tavern with a fine menu of pub fare. Particular favorites are the fish'n chips, sweet potato fries, fried oysters, pub steak, and an impressive array of beers. A favorite of locals and out-of-towers, 'The Tavern' is the place to be on Friday nights. As members of Virginia's Artisan Trail, the Tavern often features regional music... More

A couple of us had burgers which were good. Appetizer tray with wings, onion rings and cheese sticks was good. 2 in our group had pub steak with mixed vegetables.Steak was cooked nicely but lacked seasoning. A little salt and pepper helped. Service good and staff friendly. Good variety of items on menu. Overall a positive experience. Would definitely eat here... More

I and four work colleagues went to Jack Mason's on a recent Monday night after a LONG day of meetings. As usual, we were not disappointed. Great fried pickles and some really tasty sandwiches. The French Dip and Buffalo Chicken Wrap got strong reviews. And then four of us succumbed to the desert menu too - blackberry cobbler with ice... More

The chicken special and fish and chips were the hit of the night for us. The meals were very good and the price is reasonable.

The food was good, I wish they had a greater selection of beers but overall it was a good tavern. The atmosphere was cozy.

We stopped in for lunch after a hike at Douthat State Park. It was all the reviews led us to expect and more. The sandwiches were wonderful and the waitress took my custom sandwich order right in stride. We did not expect the home made soup to be so exceptional and were glad we ordered cups instead of bowls, they... More

This is the sort of lunch spot I'm always looking for when traveling, great little town, great homemade food, great folks. I had the Reuben and onion rings and IPA on tap. Highly recommended.
