We arrived for an early dinner around 4pm. We were greeted and seated immediately. We were with others who knew the menu and followed their recommendations. We ordered a starter of Irish spring rolls. Yum. Then the fish and chips, and Guinness burger. We also ordered the shepherd pie and corned beef and cabbage dinner. All was good. And the... More

We were in town visiting and wanted to find a fun spot for a Friday night dinner and drinks. This place fit the bill. It had been recommended by a friend and the reviews were good. I made reservations the day before for a party of four at 7:00pm Friday, We got there at 7:00 and our table was waiting.... More

Great food, atmosphere, staff, Guinness and experience. Large menu ranging from seafood to steaks. It's a can't miss if you're in NOVA.

They have a decent variety of traditional Irish and typical American fare on their menu. This is not a gourmet restaurant of place for foodies, but it's a nice treat if you are in the mood for Irish fare. They do have live music many nights of the week. The beer list is pretty good also. It's definitely a fun... More

This was a first time visit for all five of us. We made reservations since it was a weekend, and the restaurant soon filled up so that was a good call. The restaurant decor is very authentic and I felt like I was back in Ireland. Our waitress was great, and we all enjoyed our meals. The music was just... More

Food here is good but drinks are great and this is the reason for my frequent visit to this place. Excellent place for a loud musical night in Fairfax. There is no place better on Chain Bridge Road than Auld Shebeen.

If you want a great Irish pub, with excellent draft beers, look no further. They often have good life music, as well. Word of advice... avoid downstairs if you're wanting a quiet pint and good conversation.

We visit Auld Shebeen weekly. It's a friendly pub atmosphere where the staff smile and eventually get to know you. The food is really good and the pints are delicious. The Chicken Club sandwich is a favorite. On Saturdays local musicians gather there to play Irish music over lunch. Very enjoyable and we'll keep going back!

Great place to hang out in Old Fairfax. Looks like Irish/New England Pub (and those are really both the same thing anyway right?) :) Even the Happy Hour beer selection is good and they serve excellent curry sauce with the french fries. Super with draft beer!

In search of a good Irish pub, then try Auld Shebeen in the heart of Old Town Fairfax. A good brunch menu with a full range of breakfast options along with the regular menu that features traditional Irish cuisine. Tightly packed with a large bar on one side and tables and booths on the other, Auld Shebeen surrounds diners with... More

Description
The Auld Shebeen is Fairfax City's only authentic Irish Pub and Restaurant. In Ireland a Shebeen was an illicit drinking den, an after hours speakeasy where once inside people found good familiar conversation, drink, friends and great food! Fascinating history surrounds these shebeens that have always offered excitement for local patrons and will forever be a part of Irish lore.
Our Menu is based on both traditional Irish recipes and American cuisine. Our house specialties include our Seafood Stew, Dubliner Stuffed Chicken and our Filet Mignon with Irish whiskey and green peppercorn sauce, with many others including many traditional Irish pub favorites like our Guinness Beef Stew, Shepherd's Pie or Fish and Chips.
So whether it is a few quiet pints after work or a special evening out, here at The Auld Shebeen we will do our utmost to make your visit with us a special one.
We feature live traditional Irish music every Friday and Saturday in the restaurant.
