We've been only a few times so far, but are looking forward to making this a regular place to eat. Everything we've tried - Shepherd's Pie, Cottage Pie; Guinness Beef Stew; Irish Breakfast; desserts - have been delicious. My only complaint is that the portion...More

A small group of 30 of us popped into Auld Shebeen’s for a pint and some food. This reminded mist of us of living in northern UK. Excellent Fish and Chips, Shepard’s Pie, pretzels and all of the best Irish beers. Prices were great for...More

This is a very friendly and very popular Irish restaurant smack in the middle of downtown Fairfax. It is always crowded and noisy with lots of people enjoying their food and each others company. The hostess is always gracious and welcomes you even without reservations,...More

Decided to try and beef stew which is supposed to be special at this restaurant. It was terrific! Some places only add lousy cuts of beef in their stew, but not the case here. They were tasty as were the rest of the ingredients. Happy...More

The Auld Shebeen is a place to go to if you have the irish pub bug... by that I mean a taste for a good shepherd's pie, corned beef and cabbage,or a solid irish breakfast. I'm an official Fairfax County transplant and Auld Shebeen is...More

This is a terrific local restaurant & bar. Great traditional Irish food. I had a yummy bowl of cream of tomato soup and my husband had the fish sandwich. The service was warm and professional. We look forward to our next meal here.

Good food. Not the fanciest of places, but good. Parking is a bit hard unless you want to walk a few blocks.

Lots of Irish comfort food. The food was typical of any pub in the UK and Ireland. Not really anything that stood out as a house specialty. My companions had corned beef and cabbage, shepard's pie and I had fish and chips. All fine foods...More

Although I live in the area, I have never been to this place. The party was downstairs in a private room. The bartenders were kept busy but were very friendly. Hard to find parking the first time but will be easy next time. The catered...More

The Auld Shebeen is Fairfax City's only authentic Irish Pub and Restaurant. In Ireland a Shebeen was an illicit drinking den, an after hours speakeasy where once inside people found good familiar conversation, drink, friends and great food! Fascinating history surrounds these shebeens that have always offered excitement for local patrons and will forever be a part of Irish lore. Our Menu is based on both traditional Irish recipes and American cuisine. Our house specialties include our Seafood Stew, Dubliner Stuffed Chicken and our Filet Mignon with Irish whiskey and green peppercorn sauce, with many others including many traditional Irish pub favorites like our Guinness Beef Stew, Shepherd's Pie or Fish and Chips. So whether it is a few quiet pints after work or a special evening out, here at The Auld Shebeen we will do our utmost to make your visit with us a special one. We feature live traditional Irish music every Friday and Saturday in the restaurant.
