My wife and I stopped for dinner last night after a long 9 hour drive from Massachusetts. The service was excellent starting with Mary's pleasant greeting and followed by our waitress' good cheer and helpful service with our wine selections. Rachel and Jacob had the night off....well deserved and so we wondered how the Second Team would do. They were... More

My husband and I had dinner at the Griffin Tavern a few nights ago. Our waitress, Christine, was very attentive and the food was good. I was interested in the local wine and when I asked her about it, she suggested I try a little first. I liked it and had a glass. What surprised us was the $1.38 charge... More

Dear EveySue, all I can say is poop, and please accept my apologies. The tastes are tracked for our alcohol inventory, but Christine forgot to ask her manager for the comp. We definitely owe you the $1.38. I hope we can take care of that and any bad taste the next time you visit. Will you let me know when... More

The Griffin Tavern was our lunch stop while doing a car club tour of the area. I knew nothing about this place but glad we made this our lunch stop. Wife and I had great entrees, she had the salmon burger and I had a regular burger. Both were well prepared and cooked to perfection. Make sure you substitute the... More

My wife has some dietary constants. No gluten, dairy or nightshades, She normally is limited in choices and often at a place like this, settles for grilled chicken on a salad. Not here, they had a very accommodating menu and staff. As an unusually rare treat they even had a gluten free/ dairy free apple pie. I am not restricted... More

Very cute old home with several dining rooms and tons of outdoor seating. Front dining room had fire going, and it could not have been cozier. Outdoor seating on porch and rear patio. Basamic pesto burrata was amazing. The grilled bread was soft, and all the flavors worked so well together. The sausage on the pizza had great flavor, and... More

We stopped by for a late lunch, happy to find a place open during the late afternoon. Everything we had was good and the service was friendly.

My in-laws took us to this beautiful place for lunch because they knew I'd love it. Beautiful old house, lunch by a roaring fire on a chilly day, lovely menu, delicious food & wine, attentive & helpful waiter. Highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I had dinner here one night while we were staying at the Hopkins Ordinary nearby - the innkeepers recommended Griffin Tavern - and it was perfect! Great food, a live band, all in all a great place.

Love this restaurant! I recommend everyone stop here whenever they are passing through Flint Hill. My husband and I drive out from Warrenton, VA to eat here quite often. The food is always fresh and great tasting. The tofu cubes smothered in sweet chili sauce are awesome for appetizer. Their burgers, especially the mojo burger is my favorite. The ploughmans... More

The restaurant looks like it used to be a residence and had several rooms. I ate in the bar but there were other rooms with table and service. I had a late lunch here which made it a little slow for service I guess. The staff was friendly but didn't seem that knowledgeable in general. They had a typical pub... More

Dear deathblosom, thank you for the visit and your review. The building was a home, built in the 1870's. We began the renovation in September of 2002 and opened in May 2003. I believe the old gal is very welcoming, I hope you agree. She sets the tone for my goal which is to have our customers feel that they've... More
