This barbeque place has a wide variety of meats to select from. I had a selection of pulled pork, brisket and sausage. Having worked in Kansas comparing this smoke House wouldn't be fair. It's an average quality food. The pulled pork was just okay. The brisket was cut rather thin and dry. The sausage was the star of the plate.... More

Waiter was nice, but food was not worth what we paid. The stew needs to have shrewd ed instead of large pieces. The chicken and brisket on the salad was dry and taste less.

This will be my first and only visit. The first clue should've been the fact that they were empty on a Friday evening. I ordered a platter that was advertised to come with BBQ beans and cole slaw, but when I got home, I discovered they gave me french fries instead. That is not exactly a deal breaker, but the... Always a crowd pleaser. Everyone I introduce to this chain seems to come away satisfied. Relaxed atmosphere; friendly and efficient service; good carnivore fare. I like the beef brisket but often get the Brunswick stew for a good sampling of everything in the kitchen. They had beer from Flying Dog brewery which makes it special!

If you like Barbeque and LARGE portions, this is the place to go. I ordered the cheeseburger because I saw the portions of dinner others had ordered and knew it was way to much for me to eat. I think 2 persons could actually eat off of one order. Ordered the pecan pie for dessert. Yummy. This place is very... More

A good place to go and get the lunch special. I got the pulled pork sandwich. I stopped coming to this chain years ago to get any other kind of BBQ.

We went on Sunday - they offer some great Sunday Dinner specials. The food was served nearly immediately and was of great taste and quality. I think that this restaurant gets a bad rap for not being super trendy - but the staff does go above and beyond, is very reserved and very relaxed. Drink specials were ok, but really,... More

The ribs were done correctly but were heavy on gristle and not very meaty. The okra was very disappointing, not cooked correctly at all. The place is nice and the waitress fine.

I went in for a quick rib fix while on a recent weekday business trip to the area. Even though only 2 other parties were in the restaurant, service was slow and food was poor. I got ribs wet and dry. Dry rub was so overpowering, i literally scraped it off. Wet side was ok but nothing to write home... More

This restaurant was very disappointing, and seems like nobody cared about the customer experience. The table, the floor, the menus, were all dirty or covered in dried sauce. The service was poor, and the food was not close to hot or fresh. Came in with a Buddy for a few beers and a pulled pork sandwich. My expectations were not... More

Red Hot and Blue is a full-service, casual-themed restaurant chain and caterer featuring delicious award-winning ribs, Memphis-style barbeque, smoked wings, and Southern sides and desserts. The atmosphere is steeped in legendary and contemporary blues music and delivers a large dose of Southern hospitality in a fun and entertaining dining environment. History: The first Red Hot and Blue restaurant opened in Arlington, Virginia in 1988, started by Lee Atwater, Don Sundquist and friends. Don Sundquist was from Memphis and served in the House of Representatives and as governor of Tennessee. The late Lee Atwater was an amateur blues musician and political figure that managed George H.W. Bush's successful race for the presidency. These men were friends who longed for authentic Memphis-style barbeque and great blues music. Unable to find that combination anywhere in the Washington, DC area they decided the only way to get it done was to open a restaurant of their own. The Memphis-style barbeque chain celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2013 by partnering with a charitable organization at 24 different restaurant locations. The yearlong celebration culminated in the presentation of thousands of dollars in donations to local charities. The Name: The name, "Red Hot and Blue" is taken from the title of D.J. Dewey Phillip's radio show that that aired on WHBQ-AM in Memphis, Tennessee in the 1950s. This radio show launched the careers of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash and broadened the audience for artists such as BB King, Muddy Waters, Robert Cray and Rufus Thomas. Red Hot & Blue Dine-In, Take-Out and Catering. Hickory-smoked Memphis-style BBQ, Ribs, Wings, Beef Brisket, Smoked Chicken, Seafood, Full-service Bar, in a Family-friendly atmosphere with a heapin' helpin' of Southern Hospitality!
