Had one sandwich which sounded great but was actually lackluster. Looked at menu yesterday online and it appears boring.

At first you maybe surprised by the strip mall setting, but don't be deterred. The food was amazing. All of the adults and kids in my group really enjoyed their meals. The vegetarian food was great, but so was there chicken salad and burgers. Highly recommend the sweet potato and black bean burger.

We pass by the cafe on our trips to and from the Y. Today we celebrated with lunch. Black bean soup and 1/2 chicken salad sandwich. All was very good. The chicken salad is flavorful with just the right seasoning . It is served on toasted bread with lettuce. Perfect ! The black bean soup was just made this AM.... More

The cafe is in the entry to the YMCA and gps doesn't steer you well. Lots of good sandwiches and warm plated choices. Fair price and helpful staff. Wish we were in that Y.

The food is wonderful and healthy! Excellent service. Please try if you are in the area. It is a little hard to find if you don't know it is in front of the Y.

Been there, done that. Visiting an unknown city and need to find a GOOD local (non-chain) restaurant. Trip Advisor (which means fellow TA members) to the rescue! Found Kind Roots Cafe with a quick TA search for "restaurants near me now" search feature. Turned out that Kind Roots Cafe was less than a mile from our hotel and it was... More

Stopped in with my sister for a light lunch while traveling I-64. Seemed like GPS has lost its mind- the cafe is tucked away beside a Tractor Supply store and a YMCA. Server was friendly and helpful, checked on us without being an intrusion. We opted to sit outside. Green Mountain Smoothies are excellent. I ordered the half size portobello... More

We found this place on Trip Advisor - which is great, because we wouldn't have found it otherwise. It's a funky little place with counter service and many yummy looking options. I had chicken salad with cranberries - and I think it was the best I've ever had! My husband had chicken rice soup and it was outstanding. I love... More
