After reading the good reviews of this place, I had it on my list of "must try" and I'm glad I did. The service was friendly and quick, and the place looked very clean. I had a biscuit and gravy, egg and hash brown. The fried potatoes were fantastic, don't automatically start putting catsup on them, these really have some... More

Family-owned business by our neighbors in Etlan, Virginia. We eat there regularly. Service is great, and food is excellent. Sometimes when busy there is a wait for food, but it is well worth it. Cafe has a strong following from locals. I don't get there for breakfast, but there is always a full parking lot in the morning.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch on the way back from Plow and Hearth. Glad we got there when we did - seated ourselves without a wait. The place filled up pretty quickly. Friendly staff. Good food. I had a basic grilled chicken salad, but my husband enjoyed the crab cakes. I had a taste, and they were... More

The food was great, but the wait was a little long but it was a busy day shortly after the new owners opened the cafe. Very friendly.

Stopped here on the way out of town from the Bluegrass Festival at Graves, just happened to see it out the window and we were pretty hungry so we stopped. Lots of great breakfast options. Breakfast is my favorite so I got the Big Country Breakfast and it came with two biscuits with gravy, bacon, sausage, country ham, potatoes, and... More

Had Brunch here a few times. Local favorite. Newly updated looks clean. Try the omelet. French Toast is good too. Clean. Bathrooms and friendly wait staff.

Madison Virginia's Mountaineer Cafe as we have known and loved it is BACK!! The Clark Family has taken it over, totally renovated the dining room, and - more importantly to us - brought back our favorite hamburger. That's the delicious burger I raved about in previous reviews - the one that disappeared with a recent new owner - but is... More
