I made reservations for the wife and I for Valentines Day. The restaurant was offering a special menu for the occasion. We arrived early and though there were only two or three couples in the place we had to wait over 15 minutes before someone came into the dining room and noticed we were there. The service was slow, and... More

Fun menu. Love the oysters and other apps. The soups are usually fabulous. Great burgers as well. The only problem is that the service tends to be rather slow.

Great little hotel bar to have a post-Lincoln show beer and burger. The bartenders are friendly, knowledgeable. The alcohol is reasonably priced. I had a Pub Burger, and it was awesome. A lady sitting at the bar some 10 feet away with her back turned whirled around seconds after I got the burger and commented on how great it smelled...she... More

Took my brother to The Speakeasy for his birthday. Nothing but good things to say. Food was delicious (I had to ask for a "doggy bag"). Now let's talk dessert - I had the Pnut butter pie with a fresh hot cup of coffee that was sooooo good. The perfect way to end the meal. Great food, service and relaxing... More

The Speakeasy is just steps away from the Lincoln Theater, where we were going to see The Song of the Mountains. The food was good but not beyond what you would expect for the prices. Atmosphere is upscale; tables are spacious. Service is good, again at a level you would expect at this price point. Overall, we enjoyed our meal.... More

For our first night in Marion we chose to dine at the Speakeasy given its location in our hotel. When requesting, a week in advance, an 8:00 pm reservation, we were told that the restaurant was booked that evening for a wedding-related function and that dinner would instead be served in the adjacent lounge. Despite the circumstances, they still accepted/booked... More

We stayed at the GENERAL FRANCIS MARION HOTEL in Marion, VA. We got in late and wanted something to eat. The Speakeasy restaurant was in the hotel and we gave it a try. First, the Bootlegger Burger was the one of the best burgers I have ever had. It was cooked to perfection and all the toppings, including a egg,... More

The Speakeasy was catering an event next door for the Francis Marion Hotel. There was one waiter in the restaurant. He was quick on his feet, gracious, worked hard to cover three tables (one with eight guests) and us. He remained cheerful, was willing to talk, bring us extras. The food was delicious and we really appreciated his work ethic.

We stopped by the Inn to spend the night and wandered into the restaurant for dinner. My fried green tomato sandwich was delicious- with pimento cheese and candied bacon. Fries were homemade. My hubby's apple bribed pork chop was really good- he said so about four times! :-) Yummy!
