The owner works with only natural and fresh products. Together with his mother, he serves tasteful dishes for a very low price. Really worth if you want to try something new, sure you’ll like it!

Tosto Metro is definitely the best restaurant to go to when you want a local vibe, super good food and incredibly friendly people to help you. When we arrived in the restaurant all the tables where occupied, but we could start with homemade juice and wait at the bar where we could see the practices in the kitchen. After a short while, we could sit at a table and ordered our Tosto Burger. While waiting we were offered a small starter, simple but amazing. After our great meal, we got a small taste of sweetness. These small extras made the experience even more special. The staff that works here is incredibly friendly and skilful.

We're normally quite sceptical of number 1 ranked restaurants but this really does deserve the top spot. The food is super fresh, so many vegetables! The chef came over to our table multiple times for us to try samples of his fusions (he was keen make it clear that there was no lactose in the sauces!) Everyone we've spoken to who's been here also loves it. It was 130 Cordobas for the banana burger when we visited.

Delicious grilled veggie sandwich with grilled plantains as buns. Very substantial and flavorful. Two delicious sauces to accompany the "Banana Burger" were an avocado sauce and a pumpkin sauce. Great ginger juice. Food prepared by a young man and his mom (I am guessing) helps with the service with lots of joy. The cafe is located in the busy central market area and its entrance is behind various street carts selling goods. Look closely and you'll find and it's totally worth it.

This is a great locally run restaurant that we are so glad to have stumbled upon. The menu is simple as it is just burgers with fried bananas as a bun. You can choose from beef, pork chicken or vegetarian. We had the vegetarian burger and it was packed with wholesome goodness and flavour. What made this extra special was the friendliness of the chef and his generosity in providing some extra vegan snacks for us to try, so delicious!

Tosto Metro serves only one thing: a “Banana Burger” consisting of a sandwich of fried plantains and grilled vegetables. Diners have 4 filling options: pork, beef, chicken, and vegetarian. We ate there twice. The first time we had beef, which consisted of a thin steak pan-fried on the spot. The second time, we had the vegetarian combo, which used squash and broccoli instead of meat. Other ingredients on both “burgers” included grilled tomatoes, red and green onions, green peppers, and tiny sweet corn roasted. The owner makes avocado and pumpkin dressings that go on top. The flavors are extraordinarily complex for a simple dish. He also gave us a spot of garlic, oil, and vinegar sauce for the meat. While waiting for the burgers, he brought us thin slices of carrot topped with sauces of avocado and pumpkin. For dessert, he gave us a taste of pickled green figs in ginger and honey. For drinks there is a choice of jamaica or ginger tea. The whole bill came to C$360 (about $10 US). Tosto Metro is located in an outer room of the old Central Market building. It’s easy to miss because the sign is small. Don’t be put off by the state of the building. The high-ceilinged room has a weathered appearance, but the glass-topped tables are squeaky clean and the food is great. The owner’s parents have operated businesses out of the space for 45 years, first as a bookstore, later a clothing shop, and for the last three years a restaurant. Tosto Metro is only open for lunch.

Tostometro is a little hidden gem in the middle of the bustling local market. Plantain burgers with a meat of choice and grilled veggies. Only fresh local products are allowed in the kitchen! And because it's all about the sauce, Amos will make you taste his homemade avocado and grilled pumpkin seasonings on thin slices of carrot. Both delicious … a hard decision to make. Amos puts all his passion, generosity and love in his signature burgers. The substility and attention for details deserve an award. The surrounding is not to be ignored: You're sitting in a family kitchen in a colonial building and listening to cool lounge music while sipping on a "grama jamaica ginger" ice tea. To make the best out of the burger, don't forget to pick a chili from the jar. Because Tostometro is awesome, instead of a mint candy, you'll get some figue's leaves with honey sprinkled with fresh grated ginger as a finale. Genuineness and humility make Tostometro unique. Vilma, Amos's mother, will welcome you with the most irresistible smile and kindness.

Innovative street food for which you would have to pay a fortune in cities like New York or London. Veggie and Vegan options available for a very reasonable price. On top you get various samples to try and a staff that goes above and beyond. Music is also very nice. Definitely a must when you are in Granada. I’ll be back :)

I usually don't leave/write reviews, but these guys impressed me so much and won definite 5 stars that I just had to give them props publicly. The vegan plantain burger was among the best vegan burgers I have ever had in my life, not just around the country or Central America (and I really do mean that)! It is a delicious and beautiful interpretation of the traditional Nicaraguan cuisine and a clear testament that it can be exciting and entirely plant-based at the same time. And on top of all that, I thoroughly enjoyed the family vibes and passionate and authentic service!

This place is amazing! The all natural, totally fresh banana burgers and homemade salsas are delicious, as are the homemade teas. They also cater for vegetarians and vegans which is a huge bonus. The restaurant is in a beautiful old building in the heart of the market, with kitsch but cool decor and great music. The family that run it are super friendly and welcoming too. A great experience for all reasons - don't miss it!

An absolutely amazing place! The food is awesome and special family secret sauces to kick off the burger to a whole new level! Mother and son team make your experience a well felt beautiful meal experience. They treated my 2 year old son as theirs and made wonderful free appetizers to show off their amazing culinary expertise. Really cool experience! As people have mentioned, Dont wait till the end of your trip in Granada to go here. Because you’ll want to go back because it’s AWESOME! One of the most interesting burger experiences of my lifetime! Thank you very much to the friendly fantastic chief! Beautiful experience for us all! When I’m in Granada again I’m going here. ( sorry chief I forget your name but you’re a genius and I can’t wait to see you again! ) Thanks Highly recommended!

It's a very unassuming place tucked between market stalls but it's worth finding! The Banana Burger (one of 3 items on the menu) was one of the best things I've had in all of Central America. The flavors of the homemade sauces and the little appetizer and small dessert that come with the burger are clearly made with fresh ingredients. The service was excellent and the Jaimaica and Ginger juice was ice cold and tasty. We're going back again for sure before we leave.

This small unassuming places churns out delicious food that will give any full fledged restaurant a run for their money, every element that was served was cooked to perfection and delicious. The chef really knows what he is doing. Everything is organic and made from scratch (the sauces and drinks too). They offered us samplers of their baby corn with their in-house avocado dressing which was divine. The beef burger was amazing, it was technically a steak and not a burger, I would highly recommend it. Additionally, the owner/chef is extremely charismatic and kind, offering us sampler of their sauces and home made honey ginger figs. The entire dining experience was splendid and not what we expected from a hole in the wall eatery near the busy municipal market. This is a hidden gem of Granada that everyone should try

Super cool family-run gem on the main street of the Granada market! After days of gallo pinto (some good, some bad), the burgers at Tostometro are a welcome change - especially because they’re super yummy! We had the veggie and the beef, both served with pumpkin and avocado dressing in delicious fried plantain buns. In addition, the owners are really friendly and helpful. We were looking for Pitaya (dragon fruit) on the market and could not find it, so they took us on a tour through the market - unfortunately we were not successful as it is past the season, but the sentiment is very much appreciated!🙏🏼

This place is a little gem of a find in the food market, a little hard to find, blink and you'll miss it. We took the Banana burger and ice ginger tea two days in a row and it was so fresh and very tasty. Instead of bread they use compressed plantain to make the bun with delicious drissle of avocado sauce and crunchy grilled vegetables. Run by a mother, son and we think grandmother team. So friendly giving extra little taster plates while you wait. Really seems like restaurant quality from a tiny open kitchen.
