We grabbed the last meal of our vacation at Expressionista on the recommendation of friends who have lived in Nicaragua for years. The atmosphere is so beautiful - fantastic art, low lighting, and beautiful greenery are dispersed about the restaurant. The service was impeccable. We received enthusiastic descriptions about where everything came from and suggestions for pairings. The food was... More

We shared a fantastic meal here on our last night in Nicaragua. The food, atmosphere and service were all top notch! Highly recommend. Kudos to Andres and his team - we will most definitely return whenever we come back to Granada.

We discovered the place by chance, strolling the streets of Granada. It is a charming and chilled place, with good coffee and a fantastic menu. It's been a great pleasure to relax there in the evening. Highly recommended, especially if you have been travelling for a couple of months like us and miss finer cuisine.

It was nice to find good, organic, locally sourced food and drink, for a change. The menu is very creative, but small. It certainly isn't the cheapest place in town, but well worth it. We spent $60 for lunch with drinks. We ordered two courses and had a couple of locally produced beers as well. I am not complaining, I... More

Went for lunch, great service, great setting. Food is exceptionally fresh and a very creative menu, as well as the best espresso coffee I had in Nicuragua, but it comes at a price. Already the most expensive menu I've seen in Nicuragua, then having 15% added for tip seemed pretty steep. Go for a treat, not a casual lunch

We were recommended to have dinner at Espressonista by our hotel staff and it certainly didn't disappoint. The meal we had was super delicious and very creative. As self described "foodies" who live in NYC, we eat a lot of very good food, and Espressonista offered dished that we had never seen before. It is certainly on the more expensive... More

Great place for coffee and tasty desert. The main food menu was to rich for my travel budget though. Service was great.

This funky café exudes class and great energy! I have dined here several times and every time it has been amazing. Great organic food beautifully prepared and presented. The owner and staff add to the experience by being attentive while making you feel like you're at home. Whether it's mid day and you just want a light lunch or creative... More

I had a reservation here and I cannot believe how we were treated. We got there 15 minutes early and were told to come back because there were no tables- fine. When we returned we made sure they knew we were there for our reservation. However, we were passed up time after time for other people to be seated. Finally... More

Dear DreLane, I am troubled by your review. When did you come here that we were so busy, no tables, to take you in? We usually have a couple of tables a night dining with us. We are never busy. You don't describe our restaurant correctly. You were passed up, time after time, for other people to be seated? When... More

The best coffee drinks---ever. Topped only by the quality and creativity of the food. Every day offers a new globe-spanning special. Save room for dessert, or come specifically for the home made creations. Special coffee beans are estate grown just for them to roast. Honestly, I could eat here every day.

Description
Modern environment in a neoclassical property constructed in 1886. We've forged a relationship with Nicaragua's best coffee producers to provide you with an excellent cup. High altitude, shade grown boutique crops yield coffees with a crisp and balanced acidity, roundness, sweetness and rich chocolate-like brews. These farmers know what they do. The poetry is ever intended at Espressonista. On your table we serve local, slightly smoked ham. The brie, the camembert and manchego are also from Masatepe and Matagalpa. Organic lettuce, baby asparagus and other greens from Ticuantepe. Chez nous, we know where everything comes from. We bake our own pastries and breads, make our own ice creams, brew our own beer. We love food, drink and good company. Join us!
