Ars en Re (wonderful name) is home to this bustling cafe with Tex Mex and up-market burgers and good salads. Heaving in the summer so booking essential. We cycled round the nature reserve after a good lunch on a sunny February day. Service was quick and friendly and this was our fourth visit - so we recommend it. The fashionistas... More

This place is jammed packed with memorabilia and it positively bustles as a bar/restaurant at the edge of the village. Food was robust, plentiful and deliciously hot. We were there for lunch at noon and we had to join a queue to get in. It's a really characterful place and made for a well-fed, good fun lunch stop.

Waited for about 15 mins to get a table to two for lunch on a bright Thursday but it was worth it. Ordered assortment of crustaceans and enjoyed the shelling, the plucking, the hooking, the munching. Great quality and reasonably priced. Pair this with the Montau Salon rose. Dessert was the Amoretto on apricot icrecream....need I say more! Nearly three... More

The four of us dined here one evening in July and really enjoyed ourselves. The menu is very comprehensive, and fairly priced. The drinks menu is also very 'complete' with lots of choice. Our waiters were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The burgers, in particular, are excellent value - if you opt for the 'mega' (a second patty)... More

Helpful staff who made us very welcome. Food was good, large choice in menu. Kids loved their meals and the ice team. Recommended!

I ate here in a group of 4, with my girlfriend and her parents. Despite it being 11pm, we found ourselves sat next to the most obnoxious young family, with 3 very young children, screaming, shrieking and shouting all through dinner, while standing on their chairs. This was a very obvious disturbance which regrettably the staff chose to ignore. It... More

We stop occasionally and grudgingly for a drink when cycling down from the north of the island, and have never had pleasant or efficient service over many years, though the location on the harbour is just about worth it. We have good French, so that is not the problem. There are many better places to eat in Ars - we... More

We were a party of 8 and had booked for lunch on their second terrace across the street overviewing the harbor. The menu is huge with a lot of choices and the starters were great , main course was so so. The service was way too slow, after we were served our starters, we waited for an hour and a... More

This place catches the evening sun, and is sheltered. Loads of atmosphere and a wide choice on the menu. Really nice mix of people and dog Friendly too. I will return!

The crowds in this restaurant speak for themselves. The atmosphere is very interesting, busy, and vibrant. The waiters are very proficient, and attentive. The food was excellent. This restaurant is a 'must do' if on the Ile-de-Re.
