What a great experience! Had several servings all with the genuine taste of Tuscany. We had the English speaking waiter to setup the menu which helped us to try new dishes. Very nice.

The restaurant was recommended to us by the nearby agriturismo owner and we were impressed by the Michelin recommendations it had received. That may be the reason though why we were slightly disappointed with the experience. The food and service was very good but to...More

We arrived for dinner 45 minutes before opening as we were unaware of the Tuscan propensity for late dinners. Matteo graciously seated us, answered all our questions, and helped us pick out a perfect meal with wine, dessert, and coffee. And the food was amazing....More

A mid-week dinner during a week in Tuscany. Very enjoyable starters including a plate of local mixed sausage. Mains of pasta, one of almost hankerchief sized pasta sheets with a creamy veal sauce, the other linguine with black truffle. All very good. Accompanied by a...More

Thanks to a previous cancellation, we managed to get a place for 4 last Saturday. We’re so glad we went. Perfect service, everything was delicious. The place itself is also very nice. It’s the best restaurant we tried in Florence!

During our holiday in Tuscany we chose Il Caminetto dél Chianti 3 times from 4 and I have to say they were far the best! They cook with the best ingredients, Franco’s tomato sauce is just like heaven! But everything we’ve tried (pulpo, tripe, etc.)...More

We are just outside of Florence. We’ve left the city behind us and have taken the famous Secondary Road n. 222, better known as the Chiantigiana, towards Siena. The seasonal menu choices are the result of careful research of regional culinary tradition: therefore, next to the “Great Tuscan Classics” there are extraordinary dishes that are now almost forgotten or at least obsolete like Peposo or Tripe, back to life on the Caminetto del Chianti table. The secret to this restaurant’s quality cuisine is found mainly in its use of locally produced prime quality products. Great care is also taken in a selection of wines originating mainly from the local area. When the weather is hot, you can also eat on the panoramic terrace under the shade of the linden trees, while in winter your meals will be heated by the slow and welcoming fire of the large fireplace that gives the restaurant its name.
