Unprepossessing on the outside but some of the best food we had during our recent Calella visit. Staff were super friendly too. An excellent lunch spot!

We had our best meal here of our holiday. Lovely small little restaurant. The young man that served us was very polite. All the food being served looked and smelt delicious. We opted for the lobster paella for 2. The lobster was picked from the...tank fresh. It was amazingMore
Stopped here for Tapas for early lunch on the one occasion we found space - this place was always busy & for good reason. Had Bravas, squid, fried fish & Chicken croquettes. All delicious & good size portions. Beers are served in yard style glasses...with wooden stand - definitely stopped a few passers-by! We found service across Calella extremely inconsistent & in some places we were blatantly ignored! Service at Grouchos was very good, attended to quickly, friendky & easy to get 2nd Drink, bill etc.More
Sat in the back of the restaurant which had an open roof, very cool. Ordered multiple tapas options. The croquets were still cold in the middle, when we said that it was they refried them and brought it back to us. Good sangria, food aioli....We were asked if we wanted “cheese on the side” after ordering the fajitas. We said yes, but actually they added “fromatge 5.95 euro”. Which isn’t what we meant. The “fromatge” was almost the price of an extra tapas dish. We were not asked if we wanted aioli, they just added it to our table (2.20 euro extra). After we ordered drinks, they asked if we wanted bread for the table (2.50 euro). They’re not clear what costs extra, service had 2 servers. The wait was long.More
This is a really nice place to eat in, the food was excellent, the staff super helpful & they make a great Mojito.
Wow, this is the best Mexican food ever!!! We went for a starter of nachos and mussels and they were amazing followed by chicken kebabs and chicken burritos. There was no disappointment both were excellent the staff were amazing and the service was first class,...we are really disappointed as we found it with two night la left, amazing!!More
A fabulous find. Ate here and then came back for our last meal before going home as it was that good. Paella was delicious. Would definitely recommend it. A very homely feel and food served with love. Lots of locals were eating here, which spoke...volumes to us.More
The best, atmospheric restaurant 🇪🇸 Wonderful atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food! I heartily recommend! 🥰
Excellent food. The staff were extremely friendly and nice. I would highly recommend it if you're visiting Calella!
I'm honestly baffled as to how this restaurant is in the top 10 list of restaurants in Calella. We stayed in Calella for two weeks and every other restaurant we ate at was without a shadow of a doubt better than this restaurant. When we...arrived, the place was empty aside from one other table. We were seated and had our orders taken fairly quickly. The food also arrived quite quickly, although I suspect that's because everything we ordered came straight out of the microwave. You could tell not only by the poor quality of the food but by the choir of dings coming from the kitchen. The nachos were just plain tortilla chips thrown into a bowl with canned cheese sauce on top, the pastor tacos were just microwaved pork with canned pineapple. The food was edible, but the meals were ones that someone with no culinary ability could whip up in around 5 minutes. I ordered a margarita cocktail hoping that maybe their drinks would be the saving grace of the restaurant but of course, no. The cocktail tasted like lime scented cleaning products and had lots of granulated sugar sitting at the bottom like a layer of sediment. Overall not a good experience. If you're looking for Mexican food in Calella then there are much better places to eat than this place. Don't waste your money.More
Not sure how this place is ranked so highly on Tripadvisor. We visited on our first day in Calella and was thoroughly disappointed. All you could hear is the microwave dinging away. I had nachos which were just salted Doritos with canned cheese sauce on...them. My boyfriend had pork tacos and said they were fine but didn’t taste very fresh. I had cheese quesadillas which tasted like they had a melted cheese string in them. I also ordered a crepe as a dessert which turned out to be a packet crepe - thats right, they didn’t even bother to make a pancake! My boyfriend ordered a margarita which was full of granulated sugar at the bottom meaning every sip was greeted with a sandy texture. Sadly, it just wasn’t great and I’d tell everyone to avoid. If you’re looking for good mexican food in Calella try Coco Cantina.More
Food was extremely good, all ordered was delicious and the waiting time was very good. Thank you for your hospitality, we will be back
We discovered this restaurant on our first visit to Calella in 2017 and were delighted to find it still going strong five years later. We made it our first port of call on our two-week holiday and returned twice more to sample the enjoy the...glorious food from a varied menu, with wide choice of drinks, a warm welcome, excellent service and great value for money. My favourite was the puntes fillete - absolutely delicious, but the whole Grouchos and Cantinflas experience is highly recommended.More
Wonderful from Start to finish! The food was absolutely beautiful, service was incredible and my only downside is that we found them on the last day of our holiday so only got to eat there once!
Food and service was fantastic, busy season and no request too much. Couldn't recommend enough. Very good value for money also
