Actually not the kind of place one should pig out in - the food deserves respect, but so torn was I over which main to have, I greedily asked for the Butifarra con judías blancas (Catalonian sausage with white beans) as a starter and then...took the Paletilla de cordero al horno (Roast shoulder of lamb) as main. These were washed down with some of the excellent local (Empordà) red wine (Perelada 5 Finques) Rather stuffed by the end, but have to say that both were superb and happily, having remembered that we first ate at this place over ten years earlier, the experience was just as good this time. Pals is a fantastic village to visit and this is a fantastic place to eat - just away from the hustle and bustle, although if you end up on the outside terrace you will have some folk walking past. we were also unlucky enough to be near the staff door with the occasional waft of cigarette smoke drifting in my direction. Ducked out of desert at El Pedro for an ice cream (much later!) at La gelateria de Pals, but El Pedro do have some very tempting offerings. This is a classic Catalan venue - brilliant for those long, hot summer evenings on holiday with family or friends!More

Fantastic place to have lunch or dinner (we did both). During the lunch we had the menu for a fixed price including a bottle of wine and water. This was great value for the great meal we had. During our visit at dinner we enjoyed...the “a la carte” choice, where I had the grilled “Ploma de porc ibèric a la brasa” which was superb! If you’re in the surroundings this is a must go restaurant in a wonderful village.More

Happend upon this restaurant at lunch time while on a visit to Pals. Menu is seasonal and well varied with plenty of choice for even the fussiest of eaters. Very nice local wine selection. We chose the house white which came recommended. All the meals...were delicious and decent portions for a lunch. Do yourself a favour and give this place a try. It will not disappoint!More

Great setting, excellent service and most importantly food. First time in a long time I want to order so many things from the menu to the point of being indecisive. The artichoke soup with mushrooms was to die for, and the local rice, delicious and...served with seafood ina very big portion for two. The snales the best I have eaten in Catalonia so far. Want to go back to try other things. Last but not least, excellent choice of mineral water and a very good local organic red wine.More

This an excellent restaurant. Taken by my tour Guide. Food was authentic, good, and reasonable. Service was great! You are treated so nicely and it was a very pleasant experience. Ambiance is very Spanish. But English is spoken,

We had dinner here on a weekday evening in July. It was quite busy but we were able to get a table outside without much of a wait, but the service went downhill after that point and it got slower after each course so the...whole meal took a long time. However, the food was excellent. We went for the lamb chops, chicken with Norway lobsters (crayfish), then pineapple and coconut ice-cream and the brownie in white chocolate soup. It was a lovely setting for a meal sat on the cobbled streets of Pals. We'd happily eat here again.More

Small out of the way exquisite restaurant on the out skirts of Porto. Recommended by a colleague this restaurant did not disappoint. Choice of 8/10 tasting menus with wine pairing, was probably done if the best food I have ever eaten. The service was impeccable...and the setting small and intermit. Overall outstanding and worth a trip to Porto to just experience this place.More

5 of us dined, two shared Aros de pals which was excellent, the three remaining dishes were poor. Fillet steak was terrible, lots of fat and sinewy, possibly not even fillet? Duck breast was tough, and the roasted duck wasn’t cooked for long enough and...as such was swimming in fat. Would agree with previous reviews stating cheap cuts of meat used. Menu is very reasonable price wise, however, I’d prefer to pay more for better quality produce. Service was mediocre. Beautiful setting. If you fancy aros, it’s well worth a visit, I would have to say avoid if that’s not your fancy.More
