Great pub cooking at a very good price. We had the Fish and Chips and Rag Pudding and Chips. Tasty, large portions and NO TINY RAMEKINS OF PEAS! so refreshing! Friendly, accommodating staff and extremely quick service. We live nearby and will certainly be back.

Booked Sunday lunch for 7 - all had the roasts (lamb or beef). Tasty meat with plenty of vegetables. Enjoyed by adults and teenagers. Good selection of beer and very helpful staff. Popular pub/restaurant and all round good experience.

Well ive been here a few times over the years - and always close to the bottom to return yet last minute thing we went in here and i was pleasantly surprised. The service was very good, the selection on the menu good and varied...and the quality was worth it - It was quite busy (obviously) and it was nice to see the meals going out to other tables and how appealing they were presented. We all had different choices and we were all surprised how good they were - it's as simple as that so yes I will be going back, Just a suggestion - can we have a little more adventure with the vegetarian selection - clearly your chef is more than capableMore

Made tea time reservation and haven’t been since well before lockdown , we received a warm welcome from staff all COVID compliant . Good range of dishes on menu and specials board didn’t have to wait to long before our meals arrived and they were...as good as before . Fresh produce well cooked. I had lemon sole from the specials menu it was beautifully cooked and presented and in many other restaurants would have been double the price definitely value for money . Boys had large fish and chips again well cooked . Sherry trifle was just like mum used to make and a proper sized portion. I can’t recommend this place enough .More

My partner and I really wanted to like this pub/restaurant, hence we visited it for a meal. It's a lovely looking, old school place. The first thing we've noticed is that it smelled bad inside, but we've still decided to stay, as we were hungry....We've ordered fish and chips. I must admit, the staff are all really nice and absolutely lovely. BUT, the food was horrible. Soggy, old, oily chips, the fish smelled funny and my drink was non fizzy coke, undrinkable. I struggled eating it, so I've just left it and we've paid and left right away. Unfortunately we've had to pay £31 for this experience that was way below standard. Needless to say, we won't be coming back!More

Arriving on bank holiday Monday we expected it to be busy, but we’re lucky on getting a table outside. Unclearly signposted, we entered the bar area to grab a menu and were abruptly told it was table service only and someone would come over to...take our order. 20 minutes had passed and our table was walked past countless times, attending to a table who were clearly friends of the servers. After waiting another 10 minutes and 3 other servers stating they would take our order, our order was taken. After waiting so long we wanted to order food and drinks at the same time, but we’re told it was a drinks order then our food order would be taken. This took another 15 minutes to arrive. On arrival the coffee was luke-warm. This confirmed our decision to pay and leave without food.More

Hi to anyone wanting to go to pub restaurant for fantastic service and Excellent food this is the place . Me and my husband have been coming here over the years . We did not know what to expect but walking in with face mask...on was nothing out of the ordinary as we are now all use to it . Straight away we was seated at our table and our face mask came off . The service was fantastic. We was took care by a friendly young lady. All staff were very pleasant . The food was just the same .... spot on! Well done chef! We look forward to our next booking which will be for all the family on a Sunday. I like to book on line and always get a quick response from Liam . Also I notice no change really in price. Thank you to all the staff for making our return very much enjoyable.More

Lovely outdoors dining at front and rear of pub. Well spaced tables and very warm welcome. Advise to book. We had sandwiches which come with salad and chips. It's a substantial lunch. Toilets are a bit cramped so not great during the Pandemic.

Yes. Plenty of outdoor seating if it’s a nice day, plus seating in bar area. Not allowed on carpet areas.
