Been going to Maud's for a few years now and I can honestly say I have never been disappointed. The coffee is superb and cakes are yummy. Lunch for me is a lovely roast beef and onion sandwich. Mmmmm! The ladies always smiling and pleasant.
After working in Pontefract for a couple of days I soon realised there didn't seem to be anywhere to get a decent coffee. I looked online and Mauds came up recommended. It's down an alley (which I would never have found) and was busy when I called in. I can confirm it definitely has good coffee and I had a... More
Been coming here for a lot of years mainly for breakfast what can I say the food is superb never had a bad meal yet a bit more expensive than other places in pontefract but you get what you pay for superb food friendly staff and in my opinion value for money
Visited this lovely spot for the first time a few days ago. First impressions were outstanding. Really nice inside and the view from the windows is superb. I ordered a latte and the savoury crepe with bacon, cheese and sun dried tomatoes. The coffee was delicious and the crepe was really tasty. This place also had a large selection of... More

unless you are going to walk miles around this beautiful countryside then you had better ditch the diet or avoid this great cafe. Banoffie pie is great and the coffee is wonderful. If you can sit by the window or, if the weather is on your side, sit on the terrace then you have an amazing view to go with... More
Cracking cafe with very fine quality interesting meals and deserts. Some good options which I have not seen the like of else where. Tea good too. Very busy but the service and seating arrangements stood up to the test. I was treated and so didn't fully appreciate the prices but got the impression that it is expensive, although this is... More
Visited here in July 2014, as a family of 4. Lovely setting, nice views and option of outdoor seating. Staff where nice, ordering was a bit busy and staff forgot to bring part of my order (waited 25 mins for a few waffle ice creams), but hey we're all human. I did find it a bit pricey, 1 adult meal... Food was good but the place is very crowded. There isn't any air conditioning or fans so on a warm 85 degree evening it was a bit warm.
