We had a lovely meal with outstanding service. We had lamb shank and the venison. The meat fell off the bone and was nice and tender. Will definately visit again.

Mothers' Day and no reservation, but though fully booked they cheerfully managed to separate two tables and squeeze us in. Service was friendly, prompt and professional and the outlook over the river and towards the historic Stone Store beautiful. I chose the Pear Tree poached eggs which turned out to be a variation on eggs benedict - perfectly poached eggs... More

Have only had lunch at this restaurant since it came under new management, but what a lovely change. The setting is absolutely wonderful; the food was perfect and the service very friendly and efficient. There was nothing my companion and I could fault.

Our return visit after 2 years. We called in the afternoon to order " High Tea " for the next day. Very sad, the lady who does the teas was away on Holiday sob sob. Called in late the following afternoon after doing the "new walk to Te Wairere Waterfall" Phew! We had a Guinness apiece ( memories of St... More

Would not bother going. Arrived at 7 pm for booking and asked to wait as table not ready. That was fine. Were seated and ordered drinks. That was fine. Ordered our food and from there things went downhill. Waited for an hour before our entrees arrived. When mentioned the long wait time to our waitress, she said it was because... More

Went with my mum and partner for light food and wine around 2pm on a sunday afternoon (the inside part was all booked out but that was fine because we wanted to sit out in the sun anyway and there were plenty of tables free outside). Staff initially greeted us was nice but then was too busy an distracted to... More

Beautiful location, quite & tranquil, lovely and peaceful. My partner and I came here for dinner & throughly enjoyed ourselves. Couldn't have asked for a better dinner the service was very professional & you were always greeted with a smile. We will definitely return to this spot.

We stopped into this lovely restaurant for a morning coffee and a delicious cinnamon scone with jam and cream before heading out for the 4km walk to Rainbow Falls. The coffee was so good we decided to return for a late lunch. I ordered their version of eggs Benedict, at $20 I thought it was overpriced for poached eggs, bacon... More

The Pear Tree is a wonderful place for me to meet with my wedding clients. Quiet, tranquil and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. Try their Beer battered Fries for a very yummy treat. Accompany them with a wine or beer and you will really enjoy your time.
