Our server was as bad as I have had in a restaurant of this caliber in a very long time. She did not know the menu, could not answer our questions, told my pescatarian companion that if she wanted the Shrimp & Grits without the sausage, she would write it on the order, but it was only a 50/50 chance... I've been to Stove quite a few times and have never left disappointed...perhaps mildly let-down due to slight lack of seasoning, but that is a very minor "complaint." The cheese plate offerings are absolutely to die for (the pimiento is a must-order!). I love that entree courses are offered in full-size or appetizer-sized portions. Chef Sydney always offers an impressive... More

Can't say enough about Stove. From the artisan bread and peppered butter, to the shrimp and grits...everything was delicious. The relish on the cheese plate was my favorite, so much that I ordered a pound of it to go. Will definitely visit again.

Fair food. Eclectic decor. Too crowded. Not much ambiance.Too much pork dishes. Did not have a memorable evening.

We really had high expectations as we had heard and read so much about Stove. It has very quirky, interesting decor, and is a very small place. Being able to choose different types of cheese as an appetizer was neat--and the cheese was delicious, as was the bread and butter. i got the tenderloin, it was fine, not the best... More

Had heard of it, my boyfriend saw a Groupon for it. So we tried it. I do enjoy a quirky environment. I also appreciate farm to table dining. However, for the actual prices of this place to make sense...I would need for it to be in a better part of town, and I would need for it to have a... More

Meal: Some great things on the menu. The homemade bread is the best ever in Hampton Roads, bake to the perfection. I recommend the cheese plate as a starter; excellent aged Saint-Andre; so it is not as creamy as when young. I had the $42 aged NY strip, cooked rare as requested. The meat was not as tender as some... More

My husband and I visited this very eclectic restaurant in Port Norfolk again last night. From the moment you step into the hallway/bar, you realize what a gem this restaurant is. The bar is surrounded by mounted heads of various animals, which is not my thing, but is obviously Sidney Meers, owner/chef. The restaurant is very small, reservations highly recommended,... More

What's on the stove? Good food, that's what. I saw reviews in a magazine and decided to go there to try the food. I'm all about taste of course, but next on my list is portion size. Third is drinks. I got everything I wanted at Stove. Spent a good amount of time looking around and giggling at the eclectic... More
