Had lunch there a while back. Excellent food. Family style. Most incredible pound cake in all my world travels

During our brief 2½ hour visit to Tangier Island, we made a stop at Hilda Crocket’s restaurant for an “all you can eat” lunch. Tables for 8 are laid so that small groups can share – a nice idea that offers opportunities to meet and chat with other people. A very generous lunch is provided, with the local speciality crab... Visited in late July and a very hot time of year for the area! Dinner and breakfast included in room rate was ample and delicious!! Room #8 had a double and twin bed and dresser - window a/c unit worked fine. It was clean and neat. Shared bathroom with several rooms worked out ok though very dated bathroom! Tangier Island... More
The breakfast as well as the lunch and dinner are served family style at communal tables. I've enjoyed the communal aspect and found the other diners to be very friendly and interesting to talk to. Since I was already with a group, eating family style didn't seem so odd. The crab cakes were very good. There weren't many options though if you don't like country style... More
This was our 3rd time here over the years. It is sad to see a for sale sign in front sand hear the founding family is selling. It is good but not great seafood with some unusual dishes served family style as you sit with strangers although at 1 pm on a Wednesday we sat in an empty room Service... More
It is a little strange to eat at a large table with 8 other completely random people. The woman in charge seemed a little grouchy but that might be her normal personality. The iced tea is brewed in the morning in one large batch and is ladled out of a trash can in the corner. The iced tea was great... More
