This was our second trip to Merroir . My wife and I had lunch there on April 29. It was more crowded than it had been in our previous visit which we took as a good sign. We got angels on horseback roasted oysters . On our first visit these were the best oysters we had ever had. This time... More

I love crab so I tend to be picky with quality. The crab cakes were is good as I have had in my favorite places in MD and PA. Little breading and lots of crab! The crab chowder was in a tomato base and was full of crab and superb as well. Even had a oyster stout beer made with... More

Merrior provides a beautiful view of the Rappahanock river and great food. Terrific for sharing, the dishes are well prepared and fresh. Shrimp and grits were memorable as was prosecco on tap. This is a great place to linger. We never mind waiting for a table because there is so much to see and enjoy. The idea is to relax.

The setting is beautiful and relaxing. We sat outside on a wonderful day right on the water. We ordered the Ceaser Salad and Crab cake sandwich. The Ceaser was a long piece of romaine with brown spots all over it, perhaps 40 coutons and what looked like store bought dressing...we sent it back. The look of it alone was disgusting.... More

Everyone loves this place- I have only been twice- and no doubt this is a spectacular place to sit and relax by the water with a beer and have some oysters (but I'm not big on beer or oysters) I thought the menu was really really limited. And not many wines....It has a farm to table slant to the menu-... More

It was a rainy cool day with just a few customers but what a great time to visit. Had a nice waterfront table on the porch which is comfy and plastic does not diminish the view. All four of us had excellent meals. It's such a pleasure to dine here. Always dependable and delicious with excellent service. Don't miss it.

The food we knew about was excellent, however, we learned as we were 3/4 way through our meal that there were specials our server Crystal had never told us about. The specials, especially the scallops, would have been something we would have ordered. Additionally, the service was just incredibly slow; not something we noticed with the other tables who had... Great place for a late afternoon snack and a glass of wine if you're in to that. (However, I really wanted a bloody mary and they don't have a full bar which is the reason I dropped a star.) The staff was awesome-- they even offer big blankets if you get chilly out on the patio! We just a had... More

Great service & great oysters & cold beer. What more could you ask for. The vanilla Porter beer was great. We had 4 dozen oysters before we decided that was enough.
