My wife and I arrived during happy hour. The bar is immediately at the entrance and it was very crowded. A waitress told us to take any table, so we pushed our way through the frugal drinkers and entered the dining room. The first thing I noticed is that the windows in the dining room do in fact look out... More

Big Sam's is one of my favorite restaurants. The crab balls, buffalo shrimp and twice- grilled wings are fantastic! The servers are really nice as well! A great experience!

My wife and I ate at Big Sams Cafe before going on a dolphin watching tour. After a short wait on a busy Saturday morning we were seated at the bar by the grill. We watched the chefs preparing mouth watering wings and crab cakes, each order individually made with precision. My wife got a crab cake sandwich and allowed... More

We love to go for breakfast! Pancakes are awesome! It does get crowded especially on weekends but worth the wait!

We went for breakfast on a Saturday morning with neighbors. Usually the place is very busy but this morning it was about 2/3 full. We eat here for the atmosphere as well as the food. The breakfasts are good but are routine fare – eggs, bacon, grits, biscuits, etc. It’s always fun to go and people watch and look out... More

The crab balls were fresh and delicious, as was the she crab soup. The fajitas had too much grease and the shrimp tacos was heavy on the old bay. Service was fantastic!

I asked a local where to go for amazing seafood and he recommended Big Sams and told me the crab balls were a must. This was only a short drive from our hotel and we were able to park easily and were lucky enough to get seated quickly at a table overlooking the water. The crab balls were amazing and... More

Had it not been for the trolley driver, I never would have known about Sam's. It is sort of buried in the marina, but the food was terrific, the service was great. I look forward to returning on my next rip to VA Beach.

Enjoyed a mouthwatering crab omelette, shrimp and grits, potatoes and bloody Mary's for super cheap over looking the water. Service was super fast and friendly, ambiance was cute and eclectic. We will be back for sure!

I brought a group of teachers who had never been and although Sam wasn't there to say Hi to and catch up on his kids that we taught, we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Small world, gentleman and his son next to us knew some of our staff so he kindly recommended the specialty burger. One of us took his advice... More

Local favorite that is great for visitors as well. Great breakfast right on the water at the Rudee Inlet. Was recommended to us by some locals and overheard at least 2 other people telling other visitors to go there during our 5 day stay. Great lunch and dinners also that feature daily blackboard specials. All desserts are homemade. Seafood, fresh meats, produce and dairy are delivered fresh everyday.
