Once again while traveling the Virginia eastern shore we timed our trip for lunch at the Island House in Wachapreague. I had fried flounder which is always delicious, even though this time is was not cooked quite as well done as I like. My wife had fried oysters and I ate a couple of them and they were as good... This restaurant was a lovely building with a cute gift shop. My date had the fried platter and I had the crab cakes. We were seated by the window overlooking the water. The waiter was pleasant, the atmosphere was good and the food was perfect. A delightful seafood dinner that was the perfect end to the day!

This is a great seafood restaurant, right on the water, with delicious food and friendly, helpful staff. We had the puppy drum. None of us had ever heard of the fish drum before but our server highly recommended it and it was fantastic. Mild white fish served in a nice sized filet. We all got it grilled and it was... More

The waitress, Carol, was informative and friendly. The food options were plentiful and had us wishing we could eat more food. Everything we ordered was delicious.

Three of us for lunch. Good service with a smile. Crab cakes were delicious. We sat by the window with stunning views over the seaside marshlands. No loud music. On our departure we met the owner, an ex Navy Seal who told us all about an upcoming charity evening for the Wounded Warrier Project which was sold out,

We enjoyed crabcakes, oysters, flounder, shrimp, coleslaw, roasted red potatoes, sweet potato wedges, and sweet potato biscuits. All were prepared nicely and tasted great. It was dark when we arrived so we couldn't enjoy much of the view but got to sit right at the window and see a few boats and use our imagination!

We just decided to check out this little town en route to another destination, and realized we were hungry. It was lunchtime. Saw this restaurant, on the water. All tables have a good view, and you can eat inside or outdoors. The food was excellent. I will definitely recommend it to folks going to that area, and I would not... More

In from out of town camping near by at Cherrystone. It took us about 20/30 minutes to get there. Cute small town area. Crab Cake was not the best, seemed like a lot of filling. Crab dip was good but not great. Sweet Potato biscuit were delicious &a sweet potato fries were yummy! Beautiful view of the barrier islands and... More
