Campbell's is by far one of the best local taverns in CW. Food is always good and the atmosphere/entertainment takes you back to the 18th century. Campbell's is known for seafood fare so make certain to try local favorites.

We have visited Colonial Williamsburg several times since our first visit for our honeymoon 43 years ago. Christiana Campbell's Tavern which was known for Tidewater seafood was a favorite. We had dinner there once again during Christmas and were extremely disappointed with the quality of the fish! It was leathery and had obviously been frozen, cooked, and reheated....mass production fish.... More

We made our reservation a few months in advance. Had an amazing Christmas Dinner here, special holiday menu, 3 courses and several selections to choose from for each course. Very generous portions. The spoon bread and muffins were so very good! The service here was wonderful as it always has been, in spite of it being a really busy day... More

We have never has anything less than a delicious meal here. A favorite is the light and delicate cod, but regardless of the entre, the spoon bread is not to be missed. It could/should be a meal on its own. Simply addicting! The Thomases

We expected a Tavern atmosphere, and at first that is what we receive. These taverns are billed as a place where there is political discussions, and minerals, and rowdy conversation. On the night we were there, it was none of the above. No history folks strolling around discussing the events of 1775. No Mrs. Campbell came to your table and... More

My husband and I had gone to an evening event at Bassett Hall, so we'd made a reservation at Christiana Campbell's for dinner. I love the fried chicken and my husband loves the sweet potato muffins, and he ordered crab cakes for dinner. We love the tavern atmosphere at Christiana Campbell's and it's fun when there is entertainment. This evening... More

Okay, if you're looking at reviews here to gauge how good the food is, this is probably not the place for you. Average entree is in the $30 range, and the food in no way merits that price. This is strictly for the experience, which, like the colonial-era spoonbread they serve, is interesting but probably only needs to be sampled... More

Over Christmas holiday it was very busy at the restaurant which probably accounted for the serving glitches. The food was just ok.

We were a large group (18 people), and we managed to get a whole room to ourselves. The staff were beyond nice, friendly, and helpful. They really make sure you have a fun time. The fiddler was spectacular - highlight of the night! - and she takes requests. Food was good, but, more importantly, they are very allergy aware. My... More

This is pricey, so you've got a right to expect excellence and they do deliver. We both had the seafood fricasee and it was delicious. The service was outstanding. A musician cane through playing tunes on a fiddle. Everyone was in colonial dress and in character. I would recommend getting a reservation. You can drive there and park behind the... More
