There are quite a few pancake options in Williamsburg. Mama Steve's menu was adequate but not exciting by any means. Service was rather slow and breakfast was underwhelming. Breakfast choices seemed extremely limited for a pancake house. No waffles or crepes and just a few options for pancakes and eggs. The steak was tough and overcooked.

We have been to Williamsburg several times, but have never tried any of the breakfast places. Today we tried Mama Steve's. We had the buttermilk pancakes, it is a very generous portion and they have maple and blueberry syrup on the table, both are good. The staff is friendly and efficient. Prices seem a little high.

we stopped to eat there because when we're traveling we like to try local cuisine. This place had a unique ambiance with the servers dressed in old timey outfits; they were very nice. We ordered the bigger breakfast and it came with eight sausage links, two eggs, grits and four silver dollar pancakes, and my coffee cup was never empty.... More

The staff was very friendly and good. They dressed up in old time outfits. Our food was average. I got bacon and cheese omelette. It only came with toast. Omelette was overcooked. My husband ordered creamed chipped beef. He said it was okay. Definitely not homemade. Our daughter got pancakes which were good with a side of very overcooked bacon.... More

Minutes before arriving at Mama Steve's House of Pancakes, my daughter saw a national chain breakfast restaurant and exclaimed, "Let's go there!" We replied, "No, we're going someplace special." After a long wait just to order our breakfast, we realized we had probably made a mistake. Mama Steve's offers great nostalgia and is unique, which was nice. But we had... More

Asked for a breakfast sandwich (no English muffins or rolls!). White toast. Asked for scrambled eggs in that sandwich and got Fried Eggs (yuk). Bacon was very very salty and French fries were inedible. Coffee was so so. Won't be back.

One of many pancake houses in Williamsburg--local curiosities-- Mama Steve's has seen better days in its 50-plus years on the strip. The decor immediately takes you back in time as do the frilly server outfits, and not in a nice way (although the service itself was very good). Mediocre food, dishwater coffee, low lighting: you can probably do much better... More

We chose Mama Steve's over the two IHOP restaurants on the street, expecting to hear a great story about how it was named. We didn't get that. We were given a printed sheet outlining the restaurant's ownership, which sadly, gave us no insight into the name. The pancakes were good, but it's tough to mess up pancakes. Nice, open, family-oriented... More

Nice, warm, friendly breakfast. Helpful waitress, average food. Not very large breakfast for the $. We'll probably try another mornin' spot next time around.
