It was a little confusing when we walked in. The place was packed with people standing around with drinks and chips in their hands. Fortunately we had a customer tell us where to find the "order" line. We ordered and then walked away from the counter. I asked another customer that looked knowledgeable about drinks and chips. She said that... More

The Cheese Shop is a great stop while visiting Williamsburg. We always get delicious sandwiches (order at the counter and they call your name when ready). The shop has so many other goodies too (chips, beverages, cheeses, sides). Plenty of other items too (olive oil, teas, etc). Highly recommend a visit to the Cheese Shop!

Is just outside Colonial Williamsburg by crossing the street, and recommended by CW staff. Great place for a fresh made sandwich and cheeses, but expect to wait at least 15-20 mins for your sandwich. Was also difficult to get a table. I expect it is like this year round due to the college kids. Also lots of modern shops and... More

I use the word "quick" loosely - while technically a walk up sandwich shop inside a cheese and wine shop, the restaurant is very popular, and wait times can be 15-20 minutes during peak hours. If you have the time, it's well worth the wait - it may not have the ambience of the King's Arm, but the food is... More

The perfect afternoon treat. We stopped here for a cheese plate and wine tasting. Sat outside to enjoy the scenery. Fantastic selection of cheeses, crackers and gourmet items. One of our favorite Williamsburg memories!

With a wide array of gourmet delights, a very nice selection of cheeses and a large wine cellar, this was a great place for a break while touring Colonial Williamsburg. Located in Merchants Square, adjacent to CW, it's an easy walk. We stopped in for a glass of wine which we could enjoy at a lovely outside umbrella table on... More

You don't have to give up that cherished parking spot to grab a great lunch. The Cheese Shop in Merchants Square offers a diverse array of sandwiches and beverages to suit most everyone. In addition, their selection of cheeses will suit even the most discriminating palate. Outdoor dining spots which are quickly gobbled up are a great way to enjoy... More
