We picked this location for breakfast because it was really the only thing between where we were and where we were going. I would pick this place every time now. My omelet was the best I have ever had, and I get them often. They pre-cooked a bunch of meats and onions then put them in, so the middle was... More

Stopped at the Hungry Bear for breakfast and the food was simple, good, and generous...but it is not a clean place. Me, I don't mind challenging my immune system, and I'd go back - but if a sticky table and a pretty nasty bathroom are deal-breakers, then drive on.

The Hungry Bear appears to be the only stop in the middle of nowhere. It's between Crescent Lake and the turn to 113 on Route 101. Colorful, happy and good food.

we are from Detroit (a phoenix rising from the ashes of 70 years of democratic mismanagement), the food is pretty good in Detroit, but you'll never ever have French fries and pie ala mode like this, in Detroit or anywhere else. Both are enough for 2 or 3 to share. We also had a large green salad, crisp lettuce, great... More

Stopped here on our way to the ocean. If one is going the speed limit it is easy to miss it. One just walks in and sits where they want. There are bar stools to occupy, think we will try these next time. The waitress didn't show up for a bit. Finally a curmudgen that was sitting in the front... More

Good price, it was mega busy and hot on the day we went but the server was very friendly and tried to keep everyone happy. We did have to wait for the food but she did warn us in advance.

Stopped about 7 pm for dinner because it was highly recommended. Took 50 minutes to get our food. Cook would wait to finish one table before starting another order. Hot day and one side of the cafe was really hot. Other side had an AC unit so we went there. Waitress was very kind considering what she had to deal... More

Good diner food at a reasonable price. Easy drive down from Crescent Lake and was just what we needed after a good hike.

I don't want to rag on this place too much. It's the only place to eat for miles around, the food was pretty good if not very good, the portions were huge and the price was very reasonable. Sure it's a bit run down and dirty-ish with sort of gross bathrooms as other reviews have brought up, but that's part... More

We ordered burgers, fish and chips, and milkshakes. While not the cheapest place we've eaten, we got more food than we could possibly eat and everything tasted great.
