Once again Ivar's has proved to be absolutely great. I always try to get to an Ivar's whenever I am up in the North West

This place is in a food court of the Bellis Fair Mall. I have had better fish and chips in other parts of the world. However I enjoyed the smoked salmon chowder. I wouldn't necessarily rush back.
This was the worst fish and chips I've ever had. This includes the time I got two pieces of Captain Highliner at a restaurant in Las Vegas. At least that fish was salty. Tiny, dry, flavorless pieces of fish and undercooked frozen fries (also flavourless)....More

We had the 3 pieces fish & chips with a Red clam chowder for $8.49. It's lightly breaded golden brown cooked just right! I think it's better than the place at Stevenstone dock Richmond, BC.
Long a fan of Ivar's seafood chowders, today inquired about and ordered their 'super clams 'n chips'. It was explained to me that their regular clam strips were deep fried from a prepared and frozen state. Over the years we enjoyed these clams strips less...More

Their chowder is pretty famous; I enjoy dipping my fresh halibut in it. Their fish, chowder and other fare are easy on the pocketbook and always taste wonderful - just like at the wharf!
